I enjoy die cutting as much as I do stamping. Especially when I get to play with gorgeous, intricate dies like the ones I use today! These techniques are such fun and give lovely dimension.

For my first example, I layered up 3 green layers of leaves from the Simon Says Stamp Corbel Wreath Die. Be sure to watch the video for a trick on how to do this easily! This die is stunning.

In between the leaves, I added a rainbow of Lucy’s Cards Rainbow Jewels. The Simon Says Stamp Script Thanks Die Cut sentiment is covered with Wink of Stella Clear Shimmer and Mini Ranger Glossy Accents.

For my next example, i used the Simon Says Stamp Heart Sprinkle Wreath Die and colored the layered die cuts with my Copics. (Again – watch the video to see how this was done!)

And check out that dimension! The added white dots to the wreath with my Tonic Morning Dew Nuvo Drops.

The Simon Says Stamp Foral Burst Collage Die also works great with this layered die cut technique. I layered each of the flowers on this next card… but varied how many layers on each. The pink flower has 3 layers, the orange has 4, the yellow has 1, the green has 3, and the blue has 5.

I colored the layered die cuts once again with Wink of Stella Clear Shimmer and Mini Ranger Glossy Accents. I also added a cluster of Lucy’s Cards Rainbow Jewels to the centers.

Isn’t that Simon Says Stamp Thanks Script Die Cut classic? Love! I am so glad it comes with the word itself and it’s shadow.

For my last example, I used the Simon Says Stamp Heart Sprinkle Trail Die as a template for layered die cuts and lots of Lucy’s Cards Rainbow Jewels. This is SUCH fun in real life… I wish I could capture it in my photos!

And by the way, i used a matching Simon Says Stamp Metallic Envelope stamped with a Simon Says Stamp Envelope Greeting for each of my cards.

  1. Oh my gosh, you make the most beautiful cards! You put mine to shame and people like mine. They would like yours better if they saw yours. Yours are so colorful and I see lots of yellow, which is my favorite color. I can’t wait to get my die cutter and so far I haven’t gotten it yet but when I do, I will be able to make cards like yours. You know me and colors and yours are so colorful! These are my kind of cards! Thank you for showing us your beautiful cards and for giving us the chance to win something. I can’t wait to win!
I have a favor to ask you and you can say no but my mom has a birthday coming on July 29th. She will be 90. How many people reach that age? It’s going to be sad now that my dad isn’t with us for her day and I was wondering if you and people on this site could make her a card for her special day? Can you imagine if she got a whole bunch of cards on her day? I know how happy I would be. Let me know please if you can do this.

  2. Bless you for the chance to win! I’m trying to get more die cuts when I can but they’re so expensive. I’m a Cricut user and instructor but I really wish I would have gotten a big shots and dies instead of investing so much in Cricut. I’m saving now for a set of the stitched rectangle dies. Love your cards. Thanks for sharing.

  3. I don’t love it as much as stamping but it is growing on me. I DO like to see what you and others do with dies. Thanks for all your great ideas.

  4. Thank you Jennifer for your wonderful videos and sharing such amazingly beautiful ideas with us! I have never commented before, but wanted to take the time to. I really loved your idea on layering the cut out pieces from the die cut pattern. What a beautiful look it gives. I immediately went to Simon Says Stamp and ordered my Floral Burst Collage Die and by the next day when you showed us how you did it, I looked back over at Simon Says Stamp and it was sold out. That is what an impact you have on all of us who watch the magic that you make with paper and cards. I have enjoyed watching and listening to your voice explain so beautifully what you do and how you do it for quite a long time and just wanted to say thank you! God’s Blessings! Rita
