I enjoy die cutting as much as I do stamping. Especially when I get to play with gorgeous, intricate dies like the ones I use today! These techniques are such fun and give lovely dimension.

For my first example, I layered up 3 green layers of leaves from the Simon Says Stamp Corbel Wreath Die. Be sure to watch the video for a trick on how to do this easily! This die is stunning.

In between the leaves, I added a rainbow of Lucy’s Cards Rainbow Jewels. The Simon Says Stamp Script Thanks Die Cut sentiment is covered with Wink of Stella Clear Shimmer and Mini Ranger Glossy Accents.

For my next example, i used the Simon Says Stamp Heart Sprinkle Wreath Die and colored the layered die cuts with my Copics. (Again – watch the video to see how this was done!)

And check out that dimension! The added white dots to the wreath with my Tonic Morning Dew Nuvo Drops.

The Simon Says Stamp Foral Burst Collage Die also works great with this layered die cut technique. I layered each of the flowers on this next card… but varied how many layers on each. The pink flower has 3 layers, the orange has 4, the yellow has 1, the green has 3, and the blue has 5.

I colored the layered die cuts once again with Wink of Stella Clear Shimmer and Mini Ranger Glossy Accents. I also added a cluster of Lucy’s Cards Rainbow Jewels to the centers.

Isn’t that Simon Says Stamp Thanks Script Die Cut classic? Love! I am so glad it comes with the word itself and it’s shadow.

For my last example, I used the Simon Says Stamp Heart Sprinkle Trail Die as a template for layered die cuts and lots of Lucy’s Cards Rainbow Jewels. This is SUCH fun in real life… I wish I could capture it in my photos!

And by the way, i used a matching Simon Says Stamp Metallic Envelope stamped with a Simon Says Stamp Envelope Greeting for each of my cards.

  4. I love die cutting. I am amazed at what a difference an intricate die makes. You always offer so many ways to use ALL the products. I’m so inspired, thanks!

  5. I love making cards for my friends that pray for me, and do special things. You give me great ideas. Thank you for all your help.

  6. Because stamping and die cutting can go hand-in-hand or do their own thing, there are so many different ways they can be used. Doesn’t matter whether I’m using them together or by themselves, I know I am going to have a blast using them!

  7. Yes, Jennifer, I do like die cutting, and I love what you ‘ve done on these cars. Stacking these tiny cutouts was a wonderful idea to add dimension and interest to the design. I never would’ve thought to do this technique and am so thankful you gave me this idea!!

  8. very pretty, love the way the flowers and the hearts seem to leap off of the card! die cutting and stamping go so well together 🙂

  9. I love die cutting, I love these fabulous dies, & now I need them ALL. Way to enable, Jennifer. Your cards are stunning.

  10. Love the layered look, especially the varying levels of the flowers! I like die cutting, but for me it will never compete with stamping. I think its just too cost prohibitive in comparison. For that matter, you can invest once in an electronic die cutter and usually adjust most of the ‘die’ techniques for use with it. I own a ton of Spellbinders dies cause I love the stenciled die look, but I only have a dozen or so other dies.

  11. Die-cutting is such a great addition to card-making. I use both, sometimes at the same time! I could never begin to afford to get all the dies I like. Thank you for the opportunity to win!

  12. Oh my goodness! I do love die cutting as much as stamping!!! I love this technique and these new dies!! Thanks for sharing!

  13. These cards are amazing. They all look like gems. You showed some patience getting all those pieces stacked up. No favorite, They all speak to me. I love the rainbow color theme. I can never decide on a color.

  14. I like die cutting more than stamping. I can cut shapes and letters etc. from colored cardstock and not have to worry about my not so perfect coloring.

  15. I really like die cutting, but I don’t have as many due to the price point. Nevertheless, I love the effects one can add to a card with them – from backgrounds to sentiments, they make a world of a difference.

  16. These die cut stacks are amazing! The tiny details are so fun! Plus, I can never resist a beautiful rainbow of colors! TFS!!

  17. Oh YES! I love stamping AND die cutting! I have so many of each that my craft room could be a star for a crafter’s hoarders show! LOL Thanks for a chance to win an awesome prize! 😀

  18. Gorgeous cards! Your videos are so inspiring. Love the layering look, especially the different levels of the flowers.

  19. Another amazing project and creative inspiration from you! Love your work and thank you so much for sharing all of your talent with us through your blog and videos.

  20. As always, Jennifer, you’ve shared a great technique to add special touches to card designs. The cut out layering for these cards along with color and shimmer/gloss is amazing. Adding the jewels and dotted accents just puts these cards over the top. Thanks for sharing all of this in your video on the blog hop.

  21. I love die cutting! My little Cuttlebug gets a lot of use! My poor neglected electronic cutter is gathering dust. ?

  22. I love die cutting, especially for wedding cards. I love to die cut a lot of fancy swirls and lacy stuff in whites and super light pastels. These cards that you have done are way above awesome! I love the texture, sparkle, and shine!

  23. Love your samples and the cool technique. Who does’t love die cutting-you would have to be crazy not to like it!
