Faux Dimensional Embossing
Hello. Today I am sharing a very simple technique for creating a faux dimensional look with embossing. The results? Looks like puffy stickers!

As a kid, I LOVED puffy stickers. And this technique of layered embossing gives that look!
My first card shows the layered look on dark gray cardstock. I started by clear embossing the big and bold sentiment from the Concord & 9th Fill In Phrases Stamp Set on a Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles Die cut. I then pink heat embossed the same sentiment on top of the first… but slightly offset. The result? A dimensional puffy sticker!
For the backgrounds, I used the new and very innovative Concord & 9th Floral Fill In Patterned Paper and Concord & 9th Floral Fill In Stencils. The papers are grey and white and have open flower areas. All you have to do is line up the floral stencils and ink it with whatever colors you want to make custom patterned papers. BRILLIANT. All I added for embellishments? Your Next Stamp Crystal Clear Sparkle Gumdrops.
You can layer any colors of embossing powder. The examples above show color over clear. But you can also do color on top of color. The example on the right below shows light pink under dark pink. And again, I used the Concord & 9th Floral Fill In Stencils and Concord & 9th Floral Fill In Patterned Paper for the backgrounds.
Grab any two embossing powders you have and try it!
The blue pops against the black background…
If you want the look of shadowed sentiments on white, simple stamp the first layer with light grey ink and color heat emboss the second. Works great!
I hope you will give this a try!
