Sentiment Background + Color On-The-Go + GIVEAWAY
Hello! Today’s video is packed full of info. Not only do I share how to create a sentiment background, I also show how I color on-the-go. AND… this post is also part of a fun blog hop with giveaways!

I forgot to mention in my video that one of the reasons I liked doing these backgrounds is because I used lots of products from lots of companies. Since I am in the great position of not working for any companies, I can use whatever I want! So I can mix to my heart’s delight. 🙂 The more the merrier!
Sentiment backgrounds are a great way to stretch your supplies and create unique cards around a theme. I like to make a bunch and have them on hand to add any colored images I make. I used many stamp sets for these backgrounds (they are all listed below in the thumbnails). It was good to give those sets more use! Be sure to watch the video for tips on lining them up.
After I added the backgrounds to the cards, I die cut a window. I then adhered an image peeking out from the window… and added a color cardstock to the inside of the card. This butterfly is new from Birch Press – the Close To My Heart Stamp Set. I colored it with Tombow Dual Brush Pens on Strathmore Bristol Smooth Paper… and blended it with a Clear Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen. All of this coloring was done on-the-go and then I just brought them home to die cut and add to cards.
I wanted a simple yet bold sentiment so I went with “heartfelt thanks” from the Mama Elephant Organic Blooms Stamp Set. And those sequins? Those are sequins without holes!!!!! How fun is that!? They look like gems with little bulk. WOOT! I added them with Ranger Multi Medium Matte Adhesive.
On this next one, I allowed the window to hang off the card. I like that look…
Just think of all the different stamped images you could use with this card design…
You could skip the window on this design but it sure adds a lot of interest.
Lila helped me color this next butterfly. Oh – and it is good to have some tone-on-tone kraft backgrounds on hand. They work with any color stamped images.
I also created a background with birthday sentiments. I will be making more cards with these backgrounds this weekend.
I am working on lots of teacher cards so I am making some with the new and oh-so-adorable Pretty Pink Posh Friends Forever kids holding an apple.
Give this a try – it is rewarding!
COLORING ON-THE-GO
In the video I show a Thirty-One Bag that I like to use for coloring on-the-go. If you are interested in getting one, you can head HERE. My friend Stephanie sells it and can help you out. The Hanging Traveler Case costs $35 and that will automatically qualify you for the monthly special. The specials are fantastic this month – everything under the totes category is half off! For more details head HERE and search on “Hanging Traveler Case”. (I don’t get anything from the sales. I just like the product.)

This post is also part of The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge Blog Hop. My bestie Kathy Racoosin from The Daily Marker wants to share her love of coloring with everyone. This hop is filled with GREAT companies supporting this awesome challenge.
The idea of The Daily Marker 30 Day Coloring Challenge is to color something everyday… even if it’s for a few minutes. This challenge has a great community of coloring addicts. It is wonderful! Learn all about it HERE.
