Perfect Pearls are gorgeous pigment powders that leave a beautiful shine. And it turns out they work great with layering stamp sets!

I started by stamping the solid/bottom layer of the Altenew Garden Treasures flower with VersaMark Ink on Bazzill Jawbreaker Cardstock. I dusted on Perfect Pearls and then stamped the next layer of the flower with VersaMark Ink right on top… and this lifts the Perfect Pearls away. A magic moment! The third layer is stamped in Altenew Dusk Dye Ink.

The results? A gorgeous, pearly, metallic-like flower. This works on any color of cardstock, but most effective on dark cardstocks. The shine is amazing in real life.

The word “beautiful” is from the Altenew Perennial Beauty Stamp Set… and I created sentiment strips from the Altenew Extra Special Stamp Set. Tonic Ivory Seashell Nuvo Drops were the perfect little accents.

I used the same techniques for this next card but changed up the design and sentiment. “Thank you for your kindness” is from the Altenew Camellia Build A Flower Stamp Set.

Perfect Pearls are inexpensive and come in many colors. If you don’t have layering stamp sets, you can do this technique by rubbing VersaMark over cardstock, adding the Perfect Pearls and then stamping any image on top with VersaMark to “lift” the pearls. A gorgeous look!

  8. Jennifer,

Thanks so much for sharing this technique. (I still wonder how your creative process works.) I especially like pearlized stamp layering because the supplies needed are relatively few and inexpensive.

I have been wondering about Altenew’s Crisp Dye Inks. Their colors are so pretty! (Maybe they’re the same colors as Simon Says, Hero Arts, My Favorite Things. I suppose the black background on the ink pads pulls me into the ink color.) What do you think of them? Are they comparable to other dye inks like those mentioned above?

As always, thank you for your time, energy, and care in sharing your ideas!
