Embossing powder is great for creating a faux metal look. You can create your own embellishments this way but today I thought I would use the technique for a sentiment.

I started by creating a thick die cut from some recycled chipboard and a SugarPea Designs Layered Treat Label Die. After covering it with VersaMark Ink, I added Hero Arts Silver Embossing Powder and heat set it. I repeated this five or six times and ended up with a smooth, dimensional, metallic embellishment. I also stamped a sentiment on top with VersaMark Ink and added another color of powder and heat set it.

For this first example, I used words from the Neat and Tangled Medallion Flower Builder and Waffle Flower Balloon Messages Stamp Sets on the silver label and heat embossed it with Ranger Watering Can Embossing Powder. It looks so smooth!

For the background, I used the Waffle Flower Layering Marble Stamp Set. Isn’t it amazing how real this looks?! I found it works great with Simon Says Stamp Fog, Hero Arts Soft Granite, and Hero Arts Charcoal inks. LOVE! Great for masculine or classic cards.

On this next one I just used the “thanks” from the Neat and Tangled Medallion Flower Builder Stamp Set for a simple look.

This next sentiment is fun! It is from the Butterfly Reflections Ink #Hashtag Stamp Set. I looks great white heat embossed on a silver embossed label.

I completed the card by adding the pieces to a Simon Says Stamp Slate notecard and adhering a Simon Says Stamp Smoke Cardstock strip covered in Sakura Stardust Glitter Pen. Sometimes simple is best!
