I have been wanting to try to make a slider card for some time now. However, I wanted to do so without seeing the slider “track” element. After playing around I was able to figure it out!

But please – if you have never done a slider card, I encourage you to check out the first several minutes of THIS fabulous video by Kelly Marie Alvarez of Lawn Fawn. She is the expert at these designs and the video makes it very easy to understand. I am taking those instructions and stepping them up a bit to hide the track.

I just had to use the new  Lawn Fawn Bicycle Built For You Stamp Set since Kelly said the little girl reminded her of Lila. 🙂 I agree! I stamped, copic-colored, and die cut the bike, girl, and dog elements and glued them together to be one piece. You can’t see in the photo, but I used a trick to make the bike slide without seeing the slider track. Be sure to watch the video to see how! The Lawn Fawn Slide On Over die set is fantastically helpful in creating slider tracks, but you could also cut your own track with a craft knife.

By tilting the card, the bike moves left to right. And you can’t see the track!

The clouds are from the older Lawn Fawn Yay Kites Stamp Set… and I used the gorgeous new Lawn Fawn Minty Fresh Dye Ink. (More on that below.) I die cut the grass with the Lawn Fawn Grassy Border Die.

For a variation of the same idea, I created a pull-tab card. Honestly, I prefer the pull-tab as it is clearer to the recipient how it works and you can add a hidden sentiment.

And when you pull the tab…

I couldn’t get over how cute the new Lawn Fawn Out of This World Stamp Set is so I had to make a card with it, too. I did a very similar design but put the slider at an angle. I also used a piece of acetate to help move the spaceboy side to side without see the track. It worked great!

The acetate piece allows the boy to look like he is floating.

INK SWATCH DOWNLOAD

I am a fan of Lawn Fawn’s Dye Inks. They dry quickly and smooth out a bit to give a solid image after some time. And they really don’t stain stamps much! They have recently added a few more colors (Minty FreshBallet SlippersGrape Soda, Peachy Keen, and Bubblegum) and now have 38 colored inks (plus the Yeti White Pigment Ink and the Jet Black Copic-friendly ink). Many are available now in cubes, too. For a closer look at the colors and how they compare, check out the video above. I find this is better than showing photos here.

In the video I also show my Ink Swatch Book. For the free Ink Swatch Download for the Lawn Fawn Inks – just click HERE. (You can find the Lawn Fawn inks HERE and learn more about them in THIS video.)
