Be sure to watch the video to see this “on-the-edge stamping” technique in action. It is fun and works with many types of stamps. I silver heat embossed the flowers from the Altenew Best Mom Stamp Set along the front edge of a card and the inside edge. (This makes sense in a minute.)

Next I did some coloring with the new Altenew Artist Markers. This is my first experience using these alcohol-based markers and wanted to share that with you. I will share more with them in the future. (See below.)

On one set of flowers, I used a dot coloring method and on the other I did basic blending. The markers worked great!

Next I cut the front of the card along the edge of the flowers. This results in a card with a fun cut border. And, I can use the border piece on a second card! (That is why I stamped the same images in the same spots on the inside and outside of the card.)

I added two sentiments – “hello sunshine” and “you are an inspiration” to keep the cards simple.

BLOG HOP

Today’s post is part of a blog hop celebrating the release of the new Altenew Alcohol Markers!

The Altenew Artist Markers are alcohol-based, allowing you to beautifully blend colors to any stamped images. The best perk of these markers is that they come in great color combos… taking the guesswork out of it all! The pens also match the Altenew ink colors.

The markers are alcohol-based (similar to Copics, which many people are familiar with) and have a brush tip and fine tip. They just released the Altenew Artist Marker Set A which includes 4 shades of pink/red, 4 shades of pool/blue, and 4 shades of green (including black). The set of 12 markers is $44.99 – so each marker is about $3.75 – a great price for alcohol markers.

I know many people will wonder if this is a good alternative to Copics. I found they work nicely and I LOVE the color combos. And that they have the inks that match. I am sure I will be using both! I do recommend getting a Copic Colorless Blender pen to use with them.

You can find the markers (along with more info on them) HERE.

So the next stop on the hop is the blog of Svitlana Shayevich. You can always start at the beginning of the hop at the Altenew Blog.
