Altenew’s A Year In Review + Discount Code + Giveaway

Hello! I hope you are having wonderful holidays with your family and friends. I am spending lots of time with the kiddos and slowwwwly working on getting into my new craft room. But today I am here to take part in Altenew’s A Year In Review Blog Hop.

I think this is a great idea — to look back at projects you have done throughout the year. I find it very inspiring!

I am sharing four cards I enjoyed creating using Altenew. Let’s take a look…

Negative Space Coloring

Who says you have to color inside of the lines? For these cards, I added the color around the stamped images. It is a bold look you can do with any outline stamps! I used the Altenew Botanical Garden and You Are stamp sets. Here is the video…

Altenew has the most amazing layering stamps. My favorites are the Altenew Beautiful Day, Peony Bouquet, and Thinking of You stamp sets. This video shows a fun way to use them with vellum…

Stamp Tracing

My third and fourth cards also show a fun way to use outline stamps. All you need to do is trace a stamped image with fun gel pens. You can get completely different looks by changing up the pen and paper colors. This technique worked great with the Altenew Adore You Stamp Set. Here is the video…

Here is a closer look at the two different looks…

I encourage you to look back on cards you have made in the past year… you may be inspired to revisit some techniques you liked!

  1. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the velum card. Great tutorial on how to actually use it. Thank you for your amazing tutorials. I look forward to them all the time and your craft room is nothing short of amazing……

  2. One of these days, I will look at a project you’ve made and say, “huh, that’s not amazing.” today is not that day. You cannot make a bad card! 🙂

  3. Jennifer, you are always such an inspiration! Thank you for taking time to share your amazing talents and kindness. Happy New Year to you and your Family.

  4. I am so inspired by your talent and generosity sharing the how-to videos. I plan on setting aside time for me each day to work in my studio making cards to re-build my business.
    Thank you again!

  5. Love ❤️ your videos Jennifer! I’m always excited when you post a new video! You inspire me so much! Fabulous projects! ?

  6. My favorite card from this bunch is the vellum card using the peony bouquet set. It is one of my favorite stamp sets. Thanks for sharing this technique. I make a card using this technique and was so happy with the outcome. Thank you.

  7. Oh my gosh, I can’t tell you how much I love all of your cards but then I think you know.
I love to emboss! I don’t do it enough though. I love how you put that powder on the paper, heat it up and it changes. When I first learned to emboss many moons ago, I went somewhere and they showed me how to do it without an embossing gun which I didn’t have at the time. They told me you could hold it over a toaster (my hand & fingers got really hot) and a burner on an electric stove (it did the same thing to my hand). I was glad to get my embossing gun. The first time my niece saw me embossing, you should have seen her eyes light up. It was like she was watching magic.
I love the postage stamps that you did. I wouldn’t mind seeing real postage stamps like that.
The embossing on vellum is so cool! I have to get some vellum and try that! I have some printed vellum paper but not clear. That looks so pretty!
My favorite, if you didn’t know, is the one with the bright colors and the, wait for it, my favorite color, yellow! Amazing card! Love it, love it, love it! You say you used gel pens. I have a whole bag of gel pens that don’t work that are full of gel. I hate buying gel pens because unless I can try them out in the store, I usually end up bringing some home that don’t work. I either have to bring them back or throw them away. I’d like to try what you did if I can get some good gel pens.
Great job on all your cards! Love them all! Check your e-mail. I sent you something.

  8. Thanks[r your continued inspireing ideas and sharing your talents with us… I don’t make resolutions, but I do hope this year goes better than the last, it isn’t lookin’ good, but i can hope for some change on the horizon.
