Sentiment Backdrops + BIG GIVEAWAY
Hi there! Today I am sharing a very simple technique in which I create a backdrop of sentiments for a stamped image.

I was in need of a ton of “thank you” cards – both for a friend and for my own stash. I had such a fun time making all of these – about 60 in total – and wanted to share with you in case you like the technique. It can be used with pretty much any stamps!
I started out by stamping an image and a sentiment with black ink on the front of a white notecard. I then masked the image (using full-sticky-post-it-notes) and stamped the sentiment repeatedly with a light ink… slightly shifting it up or down in my MISTI stamping tool. The result? A fun sentiment backdrop for a simple stamped image.
For the leaf cards, I used the My Favorite Things Geometric Greenery Stamps stamp set, along with sentiments from the My Favorite Things Fall Friends Stamps.
On a few of the cards, I stamped the sentiments at an angle. I really like this look! Using a MISTI stamping tool makes this technique fast and easy, but you could do it without.
For this next one, I used the My Favorite Things Happy Hedgehogs and Kind Thanks Stamp sets. I colored all of the images with the new Spectrum Noir Colorista colored pencils and added a layer of shimmer with my Spectrum Noir Clear Sparkle Pens.
On this next one, I used the fox from the My Favorite Things Fall Friends stamp set and stamped the greeting across the entire card. That fox is so sweet.
The owl is from the same My Favorite Things Fall Friends stamp set…
And of course a sweet little pig from the My Favorite Things Hog Heaven stamp set…
I really like the look of the sentiments at a diagonal as I did below. This one uses the leaves set and the amazing My Favorite Things Kind Thanks stamp set.
I also stamped a greeting from the My Favorite Things Kind Thanks stamp set on the back of matching envelopes. I used many Gina K Designs envelopes (which I have been using for some time now) and also Simon Says Stamp envelopes (which are new). Both are gorgeous and great quality.
This technique and design is great for mass producing cards!
So I ended up with almost 60 cards. Not bad! I also intend to make more cards like this, but with holiday images and sentiments… and then donate them to the Caring Hearts Card Drive.
All of those envelopes make my heart happy!
