Embossed Impressions + Blog Hop + Giveaway!

Hello! I am here to share with you an embossed impression technique. I had *so much fun* making these cards and it is a great way to stretch your dies. I am also participating in a fun blog hop and giveaway today!

Sometimes a technique just makes me giddy… and this one did just that. I hope you like it! The thin-line embossing and fun texture are so fun.

This technique is best shown in action, so be sure to watch the video. For this first card, I used the Simon Says Stamp Corbel Tree Die to impress my cardstock… and then I used Hero Arts Silver Embossing Powder to heat emboss it. Those thin lines are so detailed! I then colored in the image with my Wink of Stella Clear Shimmer Pen and added a sentiment from the Simon Says Stamp Christmas Essentials Stamp Set. I gave a few mists of Tsukineko Sparkle Sheer Shimmer Spritz over the whole card and finished it off with a sequin star.

I just had to share a close up…

For my next card, I stepped it up a bit by using a watercolor background I created with my Tombow Dual Brush Markers and Tsukineko Sparkle Sheer Shimmer Spritz (instead of water). I then did the technique with the Simon Says Stamp Corbel Ornament Die and white embossing powder. Such detail! The sentiment is from the Simon Says Stamp Holiday Messages Stamp Set.

The texture of the Tim Holtz Watercolor Paper just adds more interest…

I did two more examples to show that this technique can be simple and fast. For this card, I used the Simon Says Stamp Snowflakes for the Season Dies along with white embossing powder. That sentiment is so lovely – it is from the Simon Says Stamp Thankful Hearts Stamp Set.

And finally, this card shows that the technique can be done with a word die, too. This large Simon Says Stamp Believe Die is amazing… as is the coordinating stamp set. I used gold embossing powder and put a little shimmer in the word outlines.

I hope you try this technique – it works great with any intricate dies!
