Stripe Inlay + Caring Hearts GIVEAWAY
Welcome! Today I share a stripe inlay technique that is a great way to use up scraps. I also am part of a special blog hop to celebrate an upcoming card drive.

I had so much fun creating these cards! I just grabbed a handful of scraps and went to town.
I started by covering a piece of thin scrap paper with a Stick It Adhesive Sheet. After peeling away the release paper, I added random strips of cardstock that I quickly cut from scraps with my trimmer. I was careful to put them close together for a smooth look.
After my piece was covered with stripes, I pressed them firmly into place with my bone folder. (This is important with the Stick It product.) Next I trimmed my new striped paper pieces down to smaller pieces to add to many cards.
I used both the SugarPea Designs Kindness and Thanks dies to cut from the striped pieces… and also extra die cuts from white cardstock. I adhered the white die cuts into the opening of the stripe pieces, creating a smooth inlay look.
The white heat embossed sentiments are from the SugarPea Designs Kindness Matters and Simon Says Stamp Thanks stamp sets. On a few of the cards, I also use the Lawn Fawn Stitched Borders Dies for some faux stitching on the notecards.
For the next card, I added clear heat embossed sentiments from the SugarPea Designs Caring Hearts set onto the stripes for more interest.
There are so many great ways to use this technique! It is also a wonderful one for mass producing.
CARING HEARTS CARD DRIVE
Very soon I will be sharing information on the upcoming Caring Hearts Card Drive. Each year, I work with Vera Yates (the mastermind behind the card drive) and a team of volunteers to collect and distribute handmade holiday cards to the elderly living in nursing homes. This is our 7th year!
Today we are building up the excitement with a SugarPea Designs Caring Hearts Special Release Blog Hop. SugarPea has designed several stamps and dies for the occasion and will be donating 20% of all proceeds from the sale of Caring Hearts stamp sets & dies to the Alzheimer Association. (You can see all these products in the thumbnails below.)
I hope you will continue on the hop over at the blog of Debby Hughes. She is a gem! Everyone will be using these great SugarPea products.
