See-Through Cards + Blog Hop + GIVEAWAY
Hello and welcome back. Today’s video shares how to create see-through cards using acetate and vellum… along with partial die cutting, layered stamping, a blog hop and a giveaway. Whew!

I am on a big see-through-card-kick… I can’t get enough of them! (I think it was inspired by the Clear and Sheer class.) I show a few different options in today’s video. The nice thing is that these techniques work with any style of stamps.
Isn’t this new Hero Arts Color Layering Flamingo Stamps amazing? I stamped the layering images using various colors of Hero Arts Ink and used my Mini MISTI Stamping Tool to help position the layers. For each layer, I inked the image and dabbed away some of the color before stamping. This allowed me to stamp again with another color and get a two tone effect on each layer of stamping. (Check the thumbnails below to see the colors I used.)
To create the diagonal lines, I did partial die-cutting using the coordinating die. To hide the adhesive on the see-through cards, I cut several pieces of the same sized diagonal from white cardstock to go on the inside of the cards.
I used the Hero Arts Wave Pattern Background Stamp for my backgrounds. (Isn’t it cool?) I stamped one of the vellum cards with it using Soft Pool ink and give it a lot of time to dry. The soft look is eye-catching.
I did the same thing to another vellum card but added clear embossing powder on top and heat set it for texture…
I also stamped the Hero Arts Wave Pattern Background Stamp on an Hero Arts Acetate Notecards using StazOn White Ink… using a Sizzix Secret Weapon Stamp Pad to help achieve a good impression. However, if you mess up when stamping on acetate, you can remove it using rubbing alcohol. Make sure to clean your stamp well with Staz-On cleaner or Ultra Clean (which I prefer since it is safe for all stamps).
I finished off the card by adding some Wink of Stella to the feathers and adding a dot of Glossy Accents to the flamingo’s eye for dimension.
This cursive hello word die cut is perfection! I ran the black “hello” die cuts through the Xyron Creative Station to turn them into stickers. I love this machine and am using it a lot! (Will show in future videos, too. It is great if you make a lot of cards.) I added a coat of Glossy Accents on top of the word for some shine.
I love how stamp layering sets create dimension without bulk. I also think you can’t go wrong adding a clear element to your card. I hope you give these techniques a try!
