I get a lot of requests for new ways to use Perfect Pearls. Perfect Pearls are very inexpensive and a little goes a long way. They are wonderful for techniques, too. Here is another way to use them… to get a metallic look.

This technique uses basic supplies. I first clear heat embossed backgrounds on bold cardstock pieces using the new Simon Says Clear Stamps Sketch Ranunculus and Wild Beauty stamp sets. I then colored in the images with a VersaMark Marker and brushed on Perfect Pearls pigment powder. After buffing with a dry cloth, there is wonderful metallic-looking embossing. So pretty…

If you don’t have a VersaMark Marker, you can use any embossing pen. Or you can use a stamp layering set and emboss the outline layer of an image and then stamp the solid layer with VersaMark. This holds the Perfect Pearl powder, too.

This technique is great for any outline stamps and any cardstock scraps.

I create silver and gold vellum die cut circles and hearts to make the sentiment stand out. I recommend the Grafix Vellum Assortment pad. There are lots of great options in it! I die cut glitter paper for the “kindness” and “friend” words… and added a small heat embossed sentiment under it.

By the way, these stamp sets were designed by one of my favorite cardmakers – Yoonsun Hur. Be sure to check out her blog. She is kind, lovely and talented!
