Welcome. Today’s video shares a way to transform your stamps and dies into characters, which is perfect for kid cards.

It’s always good to have some playful cards on hand… especially for kids. Today’s idea of turning stamps and die cuts into characters is perfectly playful and a great way to stretch you supplies.

I started with a few die cut background panels using the Avery Elle Burst Die. (So fun – I used this die HERE, too). These pieces were the perfect backdrop for the playful Your Next Stamp Happy Meal images. I instantly turned the images into characters by adding faces, arms, and legs from the Your Next Stamp Create A Character stamp set. (You could also hand-draw these.)

I used a black hybrid ink from My Favorite Things to stamp the images so I could color them with my Copic Markers. However, any quick coloring method would work for this.

You can also create characters out of die cuts. I die cut a cupcake from the Build a Treat die set from Your Next Stamp. After adhering the cupcake down, I stamped the face and added googly eyes.

I did the same process using a heart die andstamped the greetings using the A Little Sentimental Stamp Set from Clearly Besotted. (This is a great set that covers so many occasions.) I finished off all the cards by adding some shine using my Wink of Stella.

You don’t have to have a character building stamp set to transform your images. You can add simple faces or even stick arms and legs with a black marker. After seeing these cards, my kids want to create some too. These would be a fun craft to do with kiddos!

  17. I have to get the Create a Character Stamps. My grandchildren will love them. I am raising a 7 year old who thought the Avery Elle Burst dies looked like the characters were on a paper plate. We could use the character stamps for cards for his friends, he wants to use the on Valentines next year (we make the cards for his classmates together). He thinks we need to get the Frenchfry stamp also.

  20. I had never heard of Your Next Stamp, but now that I’ve crawled out from under this rock, I see what I’ve been missing. So, although I haven’t bought anything yet, I did just look at all they offered. My favorite set is the Little Darling Fairy Godmother. When I saw the Bibbidi Bobbidee Boo, it brought back some awesome childhood memories. This set is just precious, all the way around. The carriage is one of the cutest I’ve seen, too.
