It’s always good to have some playful cards on hand… especially for kids. Today’s idea of turning stamps and die cuts into characters is perfectly playful and a great way to stretch you supplies.

I started with a few die cut background panels using the Avery Elle Burst Die. (So fun – I used this die HERE, too). These pieces were the perfect backdrop for the playful Your Next Stamp Happy Meal images. I instantly turned the images into characters by adding faces, arms, and legs from the Your Next Stamp Create A Character stamp set. (You could also hand-draw these.)

I used a black hybrid ink from My Favorite Things to stamp the images so I could color them with my Copic Markers. However, any quick coloring method would work for this.

You can also create characters out of die cuts. I die cut a cupcake from the Build a Treat die set from Your Next Stamp. After adhering the cupcake down, I stamped the face and added googly eyes.

I did the same process using a heart die andstamped the greetings using the A Little Sentimental Stamp Set from Clearly Besotted. (This is a great set that covers so many occasions.) I finished off all the cards by adding some shine using my Wink of Stella.

You don’t have to have a character building stamp set to transform your images. You can add simple faces or even stick arms and legs with a black marker. After seeing these cards, my kids want to create some too. These would be a fun craft to do with kiddos!
