Foiling With Glue + Blog Hop + Giveaway
Hello! Today I am back to share some ways to add foil to stamped images with glue. I also am playing along in a fun blog hop!

Ahhhh… foiling. There is nothing more fun… and nothing I get more questions about. 🙂 So I thought I would do a few more videos here and there in hopes that it helps YOU find a way of foiling that works for YOU.
Today? Today is all about adding foil with GLUE. In the video I share three glues for foiling stamped images: a glue pad, a sticky liquid glue and a glue pen. I used a Mini Minc Machine, but you could use a laminator. My favorite foil is Deco Foil, and the new colors are lovely!
I find I still get best results stamping with the Flitterglu and an Ink Blending Tool. (You can see my original video showing this HERE. However, I like to add the laminating to it.) And if you have some areas where the foil didn’t stick, just use a Quickie Glue Pen. (This is also good for adding touches of foil here and there on a card. No laminating for that!)
Please keep in mind that none of the methods here will give a 100% smooth and fused foil on your cardstock. The only way to get that is with toner printed on a laser printer. (Check HERE for that video.) A toner pen is a good option, too, as shown HERE. Adding foil with glue is really just gluing the foil to the paper. It can be scratched a bit, but I don’t think it is a big deal. And I will say, I still prefer to add foil with heat embossing instead, as I show in THIS video.
I did the foiling with the “prayers” image from the classy Mint Owl Studio Thoughts & Prayers Stamp set. I then stamped over it with a light grey ink and the Mint Owl Bundles of Joy floral wreath… and adding light color with Copics. I also added tiny dots of foil to the flower centers with my Quickie Glue Pen.
The We R Memory Keepers Quilted Next Level Embossing Folder was the perfect touch to the bold color cardstock background. Lovin’ that dimension!
Don’t be discouraged if you don’t like your results right away. Try different cardstocks. Let your laminator heat up longer. Try a different stamp. Experiment with glues. I will admit: I made 12 cards and had to try 16 times to get the 12 pieces I liked. Not bad!
