Happy New Year! I hope it is a wonderful one for each and every one of you.

Today I have a video showing how to create a window shaker card along with a fun blog hop.

I am still enjoying the shaker card trend… but like to make mine a bit different to keep me interested. For this card, I decided to create a window shaker that is clear all the way through the card.

I used many products from this month’s Hero Arts My Monthly Kit. (More on that below.) I really like the fun of the scallop heart die. However, if you don’t have this set, you could use any stacking heart die set.

I also used the Hero Arts Love Die on the front… cut from silver glitter paper. Such a great die (that comes with a stamp set, too).

It is difficult to explain in words how to create that shaker window, so be sure to watch the video.

I made a flat shaker because I don’t want the sequins moving too much and falling to the bottom… and I didn’t want the added bulk. Isn’t that see-through shaker fun?

For this kit, I used lots of products from January’s Hero Arts My Monthly Kit. The full kit contains: two 3×4″ stamp sets, three dies (including two paper layering dies), 2 ink cubes, an exclusive mix of sequins created by Lucy Abrams, gorgeous vellum with iridescent speckles, acetate, cards and envelopes.

The kit costs $29.99 which is a great deal for all of this! There is also an add-on die set available which includes the Valentine word and small hearts dies. (In the video I mentioned this incorrectly. Sorry!) And, by the way, the kit is available for a limited time only – once it’s gone, it’s gone. Hurry!

This post is part of a blog hop to celebrate this new kit from Hero Arts. The next stop on the hop is the wonderfully talented Yana Smakula. You can find here HERE, or start at the beginning of the hop on the Hero Arts blog.

Interested in winning of the Hero Arts Monthly Kits? They will draw a winner from the comments left across all of the blogs on the hop. For your chance, leave a comment below by 11:59pmPST on 1/10/16 telling me your cardmaking goals for the new year. For me? I want to make multiples of each card… starting tomorrow! (The winner’s name will be randomly selected, emailed and posted on the Hero Arts Blog after the giveaway closes. International folks are eligible, too!)

Interested in the products I used? To make them easy for you to find, I have listed them below. (Affiliate and product disclosure can be found here. All products were personally purchased except those from Hero Arts.) 9. I want to make cards more often and I have already started with making multiples of the same cards (sort of) – at least using the same stamps and sometime the same colors like for the hero arts dimensional bird. I love this card. I like the dimension and being able to see al the way through the card.

  10. I love your card and can’t wait to try making it!!! I make cards for my friends & family as Christmas gifts so they can give them to other people for different occasions, I make about 30 of every card and I make about 15 cards so it ends up being a lot of cards, but every year I wait to long to start and then I am stressed out making them later in the year so this year I am starting in January and making 30 of 1-2 cards a month, that way I will be way ahead by Christmas!
I think I will do this card as one of them, or at least my version of it 🙂

  17. My mission is to get organized! I have some systems in place but they weren’t working so I have switched some things. You are a great organizer and I have implemented many of your tips into my space! I am hoping that by having a neat and organized craft space it will inspire me to build my card stash and actually sit and scrapbook some of my memories! Love your shaker card! Would you believe I have yet to make one of these. My son got a fuse tool for Christmas so making a shaker card is on my resolution list also!

  18. Love watching you make cards they are so simple and elegant followed lots of your steps on shaker cards. I make them and send to my sister or her church group.
