Hello, hello, hello! Today’s video shares tips for getting more out of your border dies.
I have a new goal this year and it’s to make more than one card at at a time when I’m creating… so I made five cards using today’s technique. It is a fun one.
I die cut the Pretty Pink Posh curved stitched border die several times from a rainbow of colored cardstock. By placing the die right up against the edge of the previous cut, I get strips of curved cardstock that resemble rays of a rainbow. I adhered them to a piece of white cardstock so they would be one piece and sturdy enough to add dimensional adhesive on the back.
If you have other border dies – say a chevron or scallop – you could create a fun background in a similar way.
I wanted to have lots of the new Pretty Pink Posh Iridescent Mini Star Confetti in the background, so I applied random dots of Ranger Multi Medium Matte Adhesive and sprinkled the confetti on top. I used a piece of acetate to press them down so they would lay flat. This is an easy way to apply lots of tiny sequins at once.
On a few cards, I used bigger sequins instead. (These blue sequins are from the Pretty Pink Posh Share Handmade Kindness Sequins pack. Part of the profits from this set go to the Kind Campaign!) For larger sequins, I strategically place dots of Ranger Multi Medium Matte Adhesive and use my Quickstik tool to place them down.
In the video I also shared a very helpful tip on finding the best position for a stamped sentiment with acetate. Be sure to check it out!
This technique can be used with any border dies to create fun backgrounds. Here are some other border die videos…
