Worth Checking Out + Giveaways!

Hello! I just wanted to pop in to share some things that are worth checking out – many of which go along with the Share Handmade Kindness Challenge. Oh, and I have a giveaway!

(1.) Sunshine Boxes – You MUST check this out! My partner-in-sharing-handmade-kindness Heather Ruwe has shared a video that is just spectacular. She put together several “Sunshine Boxes” to send to loved ones. Her video shows lots of ideas (including a box for adults and a box for kids)… and she even has a great crafty box GIVEAWAY. I can’t say enough about how great her projects are! Check them out HERE.

(2.) Holiday Style Online Card Class – The next Online Card Class starts on Monday and it is all about different holiday styles. Julie and Kristina are leading the class… I decided to take a back seat this time due to family stuff, my new website, and my lack of mojo. 🙂 However, I do have a video in the class and an LOVING what the artists did in this class. And, as always, you can take the class anytime – you get lifetime access. For a sneak peek or to sign up, head HERE.

(3.) Laura Bassen – Want to smile? Head over and watch Laura’s video HERE. Not only does she create a gorgeous, happy card, her adorable (and big!) family gets involved in sharing handmade kindness. Perfection.

(4.) MFT Gives Back – My dear friends at My Favorite Things are also working to spread kindness this month! They are hosting MFT Gives Back and will be sharing ideas of how you can give, share, and show compassion to those around you. This week they showed how to create “Blessings Bags” – an incredible way to show compassion to those in need. Please check it out HERE!

(5.) 30 Blanket How-To – Many of you mentioned that you like to also sew. Therefore, I thought I would share this great tutorial that is so simple that even I can do it! Ha. This is another example of how to share handmade kindness with others. Check out the tutorial HERE. (By the way, this is from Tauni Everett’s blog. She is a blogging expert. If you are looking to grow your blog, spend some time there!)

(6.) Altenew – My friend Tasnim created a stunning card using Altenew (her company) and the Hero Arts Act of Kindness stamp set. It is beautiful. It makes me so happy how many stamp companies are embracing this challenge. The Altenew blog is wonderful, by the way, so be sure to look around THERE.

(7.) May Flaum – May created a bunch of colorful cards and a video to go along with the Share Handmade Kindness Challenge. This watercolor example is my favorite, but be sure to check them all out HERE. Inspiring and full of kindness!

(8.) Holiday Images To Print – I can’t get over how cute THESE digi images are! All you do is purchase, print, and color. Adorable. They were designed by a great cardmaker named Elena, so they are perfect for cards.

(9.) New Distress Ink – Oooooo la la! I am head over heels for the newest Distress Ink color, Lucky Clover. This one will move fast, so be sure to get yours on reserve. I think it will look great with Peacock Feathers and Blueprint Sketch!

(10.) Dawn Woleslagle’s Instagram – There are a lot of things I don’t know. A lot. But one thing I do know for sure is that everyone *needs* to follow Dawn on Instagram. This girl shares the most magnificent pieces of work – cards, paintings, Copic coloring, and more. She also owns WPlus9 and has a heart the size of Montana. And she’s funny. And kind. And encouraging. And pretty. Yep, she is one of those 🙂 and I am inspired by her daily.

(11.) Winne and Walter – Wow. The newest release from Winnie and Walter is their best yet with something to offer everyone. Be sure to check them out HERE. I am looking forward to getting these stamps inky soon!

I hope these inspire you! (And as always, I share these things because I like them, not because I was asked to share them.) See you soon!

  1. Yes I have had a chance to craft a little this weekend! I’ve been working on Project Life, making monthly onesies for my new niece & doing lots of crafty shopping for Digital Scrapbook Day! Thanks for the chance to win 🙂

  2. This weekend was the Stamp Scrap Art Tour in Edison, NJ, and my friends & I attended the Make ‘n Take Dessert Party on Friday night, and went back Saturday to shop til we dropped! I finally got to meet Ted Cutts, aka Mr. Stamper’s Anonymous, and he’s just as adorable, funny & generous as I’ve heard!

  3. It’s so fun to see your posts on things worth checking out. I love how you are so encouraging towards other cardmakers, stampers, companies – and even “little people”. You really are special, Jennifer, I hope you know how appreciated your big heart is! (Also – you and Dawn are cut from the same cloth, because you are every bit all those things you said about her. :))
This weekend, I spent some time stamping and colouring gnomes. It was the perfect “meanwhile-craft” and I got quite a few done! Hoping I can make some card with them, this week. 🙂

  4. Unfortunately I did not get to do any crafting this weekend, just driving kids all over the place! Hoping to get it together so I can make some cards!!

  5. Yes I have had a chance to craft this weekend. I finished a thank you card for a neighbour who helped us when we needed it!

  6. Well, I did have a little time to craft this weekend! I am trying to finish an envelope box full of cards to give to the staff at our local elementary school. I think it is so heavy with birthday and thank you cards, that I keep thinking I need to add more of this or more of that! I will never get it to them if I keep doing this! LOL

  7. No crafting this weekend, but I did craft *for* this weekend. I made a banner, cake topper, favors, etc for my cousin’s baby shower this weekend.

  8. I DID have some time to craft! I was mostly preparing to make some holiday cards, and organizing, and then time flies and the weekend is over! I can’t wait to get some new items in the mail this week and try them out! Thanks for all of your tips on your website! 🙂

  9. I think it would be awesome to take your on line classes. Hopefully someday soon I can. Thank you for spreading your act of kindness around & linking all the awesome links from your crafty friends. Great kindness campaign ! I think the stamps for it look great & what a nice thing to do by donating proceeds to the cause. You are one special kind lady Jennifer,

  10. The leaves are falling frantically here, so no time for creating this weekend. Did put away a few things on the craft desk though. Thanks for a chance to win!

  11. I would love to have a chance to win – it would be such an honor. This week-end i put together 20 little gift cards to attach to cookie platter. It was the first time i used a wink of stella glitterbrush and loved it. I also made 3 cards for share kindness for church members. Thank you so much for a wonderful idea. I do loe your new website.

  12. I did get a chance to craft all weekend. I congrats card, an 80th BD card and a few Christmas cards. Waiting for my Kindness Campaign stamps, can’t wait to use the awesome stamp set.

  13. I had some time this weekend & I thought I’d mess around with watercolors for some cards. But first I needed to clean up to make some room on my craft table… and there went my free time! Oh well, there’s more room for creating next time. I’d love to take the card class. Thanks for the chance to win!

  14. No I didn’t have a chance to actually craft this weekend, but I did use some of my patterned paper for another activity–and I get to craft tomorrow!

  15. Hi Jennifer!! Thanks for a chance at a spot in class. It looks amazing, as they all do. LOL I didn’t really get to craft, but I did cut, sand and assemble some blocks for my hand cut home made stamps from SU extra red rubbber, but I did some more stamp and die organizing. Thanks for everything you share.

  16. Tried it craft, but ended up trying to clean my craft room instead. That counts right? Touching crafty things is kinda like crafting… 🙂

  17. Does shopping for supplies count as crafting, it is a part of the process, it was DSD weekend, so I was busy playing games and gathering all new kinds of digo supplies to use online and in hybrid projects. I also colored a coloring page and mailed to a friend. Thanks so much for the chance to win a spot in the class, looks like so much fun.

  18. Sadly, I did not get a chance to craft this weekend. I spent the weekend with my cub scouts, camping in the (very hot!) Everglades and eating more processed meat and marshmallows than should ever enter a grown woman’ s body!!

  19. I didn’t get a chance to craft, but I did get a chance to sort all my paper into file boxes. I also put together kits to take to a class I’m taking next weekend. We are doing 20 layouts in a day!

  20. The closest I got to crafting this weekend was preparing for Sunday school! I teach the two year old children and we’ve been learning about creation. Today’s lesson was about Adam and Eve and I used my Cricut to cut out them and leaves.

I did get my Mama Elphant Reindeer Games stamps and dies yesterday. I hope to start on Christmas tags this week. Winning a spot in the class would be icing on the cake. 🙂 Thank you for a chance.

  21. I would LOVE to take your online Card Class Holiday Style!!! I am working on holiday cards for a craft fair this weekend! Love your videos!

  22. I only had a chance to craft food treats for my stamp club meeting!! Wish I could get a start on my Christmas cards…maybe next weekend. Thanks for the chance to win 🙂

  23. I planned to make cards but my room was so messy I had to clean/put away/organize new goodies to find my desk again. I’ll be ready to create tomorrow.

  24. I would love to win an online class – I’ve been wanting to take one, just never quite have gotten it done. Thanks for the chance to win one!

  25. I did not get a chance to work on my cards this weekend 🙁 Hopefully I will have the energy to do some in the evenings this week! Thanks for offering a place in your class as a giveaway!!! Happy Crafting!

  26. I was able to finally break in one of my new purchases from Mama Elephant this weekend. It was so nice to craft, and in looking forward to using the rest of my purchase! 🙂

  27. What a fabulous post, Jennifer! You simply amaze me with all you have going on and still keep motivating us. Yes, I did spend some time in my stamping room hoping to make a dent in my Christmas card production. Then I realized I needed a birthday card for a 15-year-old nephew this week, and those masculine ones are challenging. Thanks for the chance to win a spot in the newest Online Card Class!

  28. I was able to do a bit of colouring in my new colouring book this weekend, so managed to get a little crafting in. Can’t wait for the new class!

  29. Yes! I did craft this weekend! I made a card for my husband – cause it was our wedding anniversary on Sat (and it had to be a handmade card! Afterall, this is a week to share handmade kindness with family, eh?) – and I also did some sewing, preparing for my upcoming Christmas fair…

  30. I crafted this weekend, and then I crafted some more. Now I see these new ideas, and you guessed it, I’ll be at it again.

  31. I did not do any paper crafting this weekend. I was busy making stocking hats to take to local homeless shelters. Last year I was able to take in 47, and my goal for this year is 100! I would love to win this class to refuel my paper crafting ideas.
