Take a look at your stamp sets. I bet almost all of them have tiny little “filler” images. They often go unused. However, with this technique you can use them to create a background with blended color.

The sentiment and the heart images are from the Hero Arts Acts of Kindness Stamp Set. (More info on that below.) And the inks? You can use any inks you want – I just grabbed some of my favorite colors. Here are combos I used in case you want to make the same – all are linked in the thumbnails at the end of this post:

CARD 1: Hero Arts Bubble Gum, WPlus9 Miami Spice, Hero Arts Bubble Gum
CARD 2: Altenew Dusk, Ocean Waves and Sea Glass (these colors are divine!)
CARD 3: Altenew Ocean Waves and Forest Glades, Hero Arts Butter Bar, Simon Says Stamp Orange Peel and Hot Lips

To go along with the confetti sentiment, I added tiny sequins. The perfect touch.

These cards really came together quickly once I got going. I plan to make more, but using small stars for a birthday card.

  1. I do love using Kraft, white and red at Christmas. My new one to try is navy blue with a sea foam turquoise, grey and coral…just have to try it out now!

  2. Love these cards 🙂 My fav colour combos are cool colours (usually teal, blue etc) with a pop of warm – like an orange or yellow splash. For the festive season I love going non-traditional with blues, silvers, whites – and off course a ton of silver glitter! 🙂

  3. I like the idea to end bullying. It is a terrible “disease.” My niece has tried to rally against bullying in her high school, but students just didn’t listen. I hope your idea of Kindness Challenge will help the victims especially.
I am so amazed on how creative you can be, so unique practically on a daily basis. I wish I could afford all those inks, stamps, etc that you constantly buy, so therefore the Giveaway I try. 😉
My go to colors are all shades of purple. Maybe with a mixture of blues and pinks.

  4. My favorite go to color combo has probably got to be greens, blues, and purples. They can be used all year long, and they can be light or dark. I think they just create such a nice color combo!! I love your card too, Jennifer!

  5. My “go to” color combination is blue & green. that combo can be masculine or feminine and can be used pretty much all year round.

  6. I love these cards and trying new color combinations… But I always seem to be drawn back to the blue/green combo. Yesterday I tried gray and blue and I loved it!! Thanks for all these ideas and sharing kindness- I’m off sick today so I’m excited to use my time to think of others and get crafting!

  7. Love the card set and video. Thanks for sharing.
My go to color combo – I love different shades of purple, lavender and lilac.

  8. I love this card! It’s adorable and uplifting! My favorite color combination tends to be cooler, ocean colors…blues, violets, and greens. But I also love anything fun and rainbow!

  9. Lately I’ve been using a lot of blues, greens, and purples. I’m still trying to figure out what to do for our holiday cards though, so that might change soon! Always love your cards & videos – thanks for sharing your creativity and talents!

  10. I’m going to look more closely at my small stamps now. I’m a red girl so anything that goes with red, like black and white or autumn colors are what I like to use.

  11. What a cute idea! Hadn’t thought of using smaller stamps as backgrounds, yet, for some reason.
My go-to colors? I tend to be a blues and pinks girl. So, when in doubt, I’ll mix those up.

  12. Jennifer, I just love this technique. I have little stamps and never know what to do with them. My color combo that I love are some Close to My Heart inks of Hollyhock, Citrus Leaf and Buttercup. Older colors, but I seem to drift back to them.

  13. I really like those tiny filler stamps. Most times they are just the perfect touch needed to finish a project . My favorite go to colors are chocolate, pumpkin, and aqua…..warm, cozy and fun!

  14. What a sweet idea! Love the cards and the colors I like to use now are Bermuda Bay, Pool Party, & Soft Sky. Thanks for sharing!

  15. Do you EVER not have good ideas??? I seem to get stuck at times and spend forever trying to get things together! You are inspiring, Jennifer!!

  16. I have a lot of trouble with color combinations so I am always looking for new suggestions. I tend to go towards the blue purple or red pink combinations. I will be looking through my stamps for small images I can use for your technique. Thanks for another great set of cards.

  17. Loved finding a new way to use my small stamps! My go to colors are teal, blue & white! Now matter how much I tell myself I’m going to stay away from them and use some new colors I always seem to circle right back around to them for everything!! Thanks for the chance to win! Blessings, Melitta

  18. I like so many colors, but right now my go-to is would be autumn colors, especially with oranges. I REALLY like the sentiment to “Throw kindness around like confetti”!

  19. I have never thought of combining a few of my small stamps that are being neglected to make up a background. What a clever idea Jennifer. My go to favs are purple shades with teal. Thanks for the chance to win your giveaways!

  20. Thanks for all your hard work and kindness inspiration Jennifer! I would have to say my go-to color would be just black! How funny is that!! I am usually, lately, coloring with copic markers and stamp sentiments in black….Now I’m thinking I need to add a little more color to my life, LOL! Thanks for the chance to win one of your awesome giveaways!

  21. Beautiful card. I love learning new ways to use stamps, that I probably would never think to use in such a way.. (I hope that made sense) Thanks so much for sharing.

  22. My go to color combo is pink, orange and yellow. It is just sunny and happy and makes me feel good! Thank for the chance to win these stamps. I can’t find them in stock anywhere, and I would love to have them to help create some homemade kindness.
