In this video, the wonderful Laurie Willison shows a “mailing station” that she has created to make mailing handmade cards fast and easy. She keeps everything stored in an Interdesign Organizer. (This is the same one I use to organize upcoming projects.)

She also creates her own envelope seals using the Hero Arts kindness stamps, label paper, and a circle die. Clever, huh? In the organizer she also keeps my favorite postage stamps and personalized rubber stamps from Bossy Joscie.

  1. I stamp all my cards on the back with a “created by” stamp that has my blog on it. I never bought an address stamp… somehow I think it will mean we’ll move somewhere else…

  2. I use a “created by” stamp when I remember to do so. : ) Would like a personalized one, so I am definitely going to check out the Bossy Joscie website.

  3. I do not use a personalized stamp, but it’s a wonderful idea! I have this container and plan to repurpose with Lauries idea. Thank you.

  4. I have recently decided to commit to staying in better touch with people through handmade cards and handwritten letters. I think using personalized stamps on the backs of cards and envelopes is a great idea! It will make them look more complete and add to the aesthetic.

  5. I wish I could find a personalized stamp in a design/font I’d like but it has to be a special order. I can’t find many with a small letter made into a capitol letter like I sign my name, – geri- I wish it was in script!

    1. You can sign your name on a white piece of card stock with a black ink pen. Then take that to a place that offers stamp
making and have a stamp made. Make sure the signature is exactly as you want it, and the rest of the space white with no specks on it. The stamp will be what you see is what you get.

  6. Awesome project, awesome prize! I just have a standard return address stamp with my name and my husband’s on it. I would love a custom one with just my name on it to use!

  7. I don’t use one… just write out the address by hand or use free label stickers we get by giving donations. I’ve added a few to a “cart” now and then, but always decide to wait until later to purchase for whatever reason.

  8. I don’t have a personalized stamp, but it would be great to have one to use. Thanks!
I’ve read Laurie’s blog for a long time, and love her clean & simple cards!

  9. I love how everything is organized and ready to go. I am such a messy marvin.
I like stamping the back of envelopes. Like a little mysterious until they get ready to open!

  10. I recently got married and need a new personalized stamp. I just haven’t gotten around to ordering a new one.

  11. I sometimes use a “UPC” stamp that says, “Made Just for you because you’re PRICELESS. It was made by Inkadinkado. I definitely think it is time to buy a personalized stamp!

  12. Hello! I used to use a personalized stamp on the back of my cards but recently lost it when my crafts were lost in a recent apartment fire. I love using personalized stamps…they add that nice little touch that makes people smile!
Thanks for this chance to win!

  13. No I have never used a personalized stamp on my envelopes most likely cause I do not have one. But I think its a great idea!

  14. We have a very plain self-inking one we got almost 15 years ago when we moved into our house, but I don’t use it because it just isn’t any fun. I keep thinking about getting a nice one, but haven’t acted on it yet…

  15. I use a handmade by stamp, then write my name in. I would love a personalized stamp, even though I also love the personal signature.

  16. Great video, Laurie! Love your mailing station idea-so handy to have everything in one place. I guess I don’t put anything on the back of my cards. I personalized stamp would be great-off to look at Bossy Joscie’s shop.

  17. I really don’t have any personalized one, just some like: hand made with love by, one in spanish that writes almost the same, but yestarday I was talking about that with my husband, He was telling me that I should have a special one for my crafts, there are some machines to do your own stamps like the Mint but I don’t know if there’s the european one yet.

  18. I used to create our own address labels using a pre-made address label and our printer. I don’t do it anymore. I just write on the address label. I like the idea of creating stickers using the circle stamp.

  19. Y
es I surely do use a personalized stamp on the back of my cards. Then I tend to initial or write the year next to it by hand.

  20. I don’t use a personalized stamp for my address or on the back of my cards or though I’ve trying to come up with some ideas for one to use on the back of cards. For now I just use stamps from various companies that let you add your name but I’d really love to have a more personal stamp to use. I’ve also been looking for a sticker to use to seal my cards. Love the idea of use the circle stamp from the Kindness set and will certainly be making some of those.

  21. Yes I use personalized stamps — my name on the back of my cards and a stAmp with my name and address on the envelope. I also like to use special postage stamps.

  22. I don’t use a personalized stamp, but I have been fantasizing about getting one since my Husband & I got married… & that was 6 years ago, LOL!
