Video: Stretching Holiday Supplies + Blog Hop + Giveaway
Hello. Hope you had a good weekend! Today I have a video showing how to stretch your holiday stamps and dies to make non-holiday cards. I also am playing along in a blog hop with fun giveaways.

I am always looking for ways to stretch my favorite holiday stamps and dies to make them work for non-holiday cards. Today I show how you can trim up your holiday sentiments to make year-round greetings… and how to use your holiday dies to make all-occasion foam stamps.
I started by using the new Essentials by Ellen Poinsettia and Pine and Gourd Jus Dies (designed by my lovely friend Julie Ebersole) to die cut craft foam. After temporarily adhering the foam die cuts to acrylic blocks, I end up with DIY stamps. I stamped them with various colors of Altenew Inks on white cardstock. I focused the dark colors and tight spacing towards the top of the card, and lightened up towards the bottom.
The sentiment on this card was formed by combining words from the Essentials by Ellen Holly Jolly
and Mondo Magnolia stamp sets. This is a great way to turn a holiday greeting into a non-holiday greeting — just use bits and pieces of different sentiments to form new messages. That “wonderful” word? LOVE. And embossing it with WOW Gold Glitter Powder? Makes it even better.
Altenew Inks are fabulous and come in combinations of four colors… from light to dark. They make stamp layering and monochromatic cards effortless.
Oh – and I added a bit of interest to the leafs with white gel pen dots.
Finally, I rubbed Versamark on the edge of my notecards and heat embossed it to make it match the heat embossed sentiment perfectly.
For this next card, I used the holiday sentiment as intended (isn’t it great?) and also created my own holly foam stamps from the Essentials by Ellen Poinsettia and Pine Dies.
And while I was on a roll, I broke out my Essentials by Ellen Wild Garden Dies to make some flower foam stamps. I stamped them with three shades of blue Altenew Ink and added the sentiment with WOW Silver Embossing Powder.
I encourage you to break out your holiday stamps and dies and look for new ways to use them!
