Guest Artist Video: Marker Watercolor with Julia Altermann + GIVEAWAY

Hi there. Today I have an incredible guest artist – Julia Altermann – with a video sharing some great tips for watercolor with markers.

[All supplies are linked to multiple sources in the thumbnails at the end of this post. Affiliate links used. Video by Julia Altermann. To watch the video in HD on YouTube, click HERE.]

I first noticed Julia’s work on Instagram and immediately asked her if I could hire her to do a video for me to share with you here. I am so glad I did! In her video, Julia shares tips and tricks on how to use inexpensive markers and blend them out to get a beautiful watercolor look. I find her tips so helpful and unique.

Julia used the Wplus9 Unforgettable and SSS Sketched Alphabet stamp sets, along with the Stabilo Markers. Inspired by her, I also bought these markers and find they are fun to use. But remember – you can try her techniques with most any water-based markers. No need to buy new ones!

  20. I love that you’ve been featuring guest artists! Right now I only follow you (the person who knows EVERYTHING about card making), Kristina Werner (the sweetest woman on the planet), and Darlene Devries (the person whose amazing cards got me started in the first place). I love finding new inspiration…especially since I’m pretty clueless!! The card Julia made was super cute and Julia herself seems like a fun person to follow. As usual Jennifer, thanks for being my go-to girl! Oh, and your son is super cute!! I love that you included him!

  21. Loved the video Julia and your card, so fun and clever. I went to SSS to purchase the Sketched Alphabet Stamp Set as soon as I saw your card, but it was out of stock. I have been patiently waiting for it to be back in stock; however, sad to say I emailed SSS today and asked when it might be available and was informed that the set has been discontinued.

  22. Love that Elephant. It would make a perfect card for my grand-daughter who loves elephants.
