Video: Altenew Inks + Stamp Layering + GIVEAWAY

Hello. Today’s video gives you a look at the new Altenew inks and also some cards featuring stamp layering.

Yep… there’s a new ink in town. And she is wonderful! The new Altenew Crisp Dye Inks are gorgeous and stamp solid and crisp. What sets these inks apart is that there are four shades of each color – a light, medium, dark and very dark. This takes the guess work out of which colors go together and is helpful when doing techniques such as ombre inking, stamp layering, etc. (However, these inks are great all on their own as well. There are currently 12 inks, with shades in pink, yellow and green. You can get the pads in full size or mini… Simon Says Stamp will soon have the mini sets.)

Altenew’s Vintage Roses stamp set is the perfect stamp layering set. (You can see it in action in another of my videos HERE.) There are several images that you simply stamp on top of each other to create a gorgeous rose… each time stamping with a different shade of the same color. I used the new Crisp Ink colors to form pink and yellow roses and leaves. (For the helpful key for the Vintage Roses set, head HERE.)

To add a bit of interest to the white background, I used the amazing new Next Level Embossing Folder from We R Memory Keepers. The dimension to this is unlike any embossing folder I have ever used – it is multi-dimensional! The sentiments are from the Altenew Sentiments and Quotes Stamp Set.

These inks remind me of the excellent inks from Lawn Fawn and Ranger… so be sure to check out the video on them HERE. I know there are a lot of inks out there that I think stamp well. It is good to have so many options!

  1. I have and use a lot of different inks. For general stamping, I use mostly Papertrey Ink or HeroArts shadow inks. I love distress inks for techniques. I buy mostly based upon color – love the look and the layering possibilities with these new Altenew inks.

  2. I like the Lawn Fawn and Ranger Dye Inks, but my exposure is limited due to the expense.

  3. My favorite inks are the Tim Holtz distress inks! Love your card. The embossing folder is amazing!

  4. THANK YOU Lila – I am learning so much from your mother that I always have FUN stamping 🙂
GORGEOUS roses and AMAZING stamping – the multi layers really do make the rose look “real” Jennifer, LOVE the texture of your backgrounds too!!!
My favourite ink is Versamark – does that count as an ink? I am having so much fun honing my heat embossing skills with it at the moment. I am enjoying Distress Inks too, still a bit heavy handed with them, working on trying to blend them smoothly.

  5. My favorite ink line is Hero Arts shadow ink because I like the colors. I am always looking for more colors!!

  6. I don’t as yet have a favourite ink line. Would love to be able to have some different ones to try out though! Unfortunately there are just too many gorgeous colours of different ones and there is no way I can buy all of them!

  7. At the moment my favourite ink is pearlescent Brilliance…I guess my fav ink depends on what style of cards I am making at the time!

  8. I love and own Ranger Distress Inks, But need to invest in some Lawn Fawn Dye Inks, to get more vibrant and crisp color with normal stamping and try to do some layering with my stamps.

  9. Hello! I adore Tsukineko products. these are the best for their price in our country! I would like to have sometnhig new 🙂

  10. Oh my goodness this stamp set is a must have! I LOVE these vintage roses!!! The inks look pretty impressive too!

  11. Thanks for showcasing all the new sets. It’s especially helpful for me since there aren’t too many stores near us that carry the things I like. It makes it easier to know where I can order from and can use the demos you have created to decide what to buy.

  12. The inks that I have the most of are from Stampin’ Up. I love your demonstrations. Thanks.

  13. I have one set of the Altenew inks, and I love them for layered stamping! Up until recently, my favorite dye inks have been Hero Arts. For watercolor, I really enjoy the Ranger Distress inks.

  14. The Altenew stamps are just gorgeous. The rose can be used on an elegant card or a simple one.
Thanks for the great videos you do & the chance to win.

  15. After trying what seems like every ink pad in the world, I saw your video using altenew inks so I finally tried them and I am hooked! They have the best selection of colors and I love both the oval and the mini inks, although I am slowly accumulating all the minis! I thank you for introducing me to altenew and all the other products you recommend. You are a blessing !
