Video: Altenew Inks + Stamp Layering + GIVEAWAY

Hello. Today’s video gives you a look at the new Altenew inks and also some cards featuring stamp layering.

[All supplies are linked to multiple sources in the thumbnails at the end of this post. Affiliate links used. To watch the video in HD on YouTube, click HERE.]

Yep… there’s a new ink in town. And she is wonderful! The new Altenew Crisp Dye Inks are gorgeous and stamp solid and crisp. What sets these inks apart is that there are four shades of each color – a light, medium, dark and very dark. This takes the guess work out of which colors go together and is helpful when doing techniques such as ombre inking, stamp layering, etc. (However, these inks are great all on their own as well. There are currently 12 inks, with shades in pink, yellow and green. You can get the pads in full size or mini… Simon Says Stamp will soon have the mini sets.)

Altenew’s Vintage Roses stamp set is the perfect stamp layering set. (You can see it in action in another of my videos HERE.) There are several images that you simply stamp on top of each other to create a gorgeous rose… each time stamping with a different shade of the same color. I used the new Crisp Ink colors to form pink and yellow roses and leaves. (For the helpful key for the Vintage Roses set, head HERE.)

To add a bit of interest to the white background, I used the amazing new Next Level Embossing Folder from We R Memory Keepers. The dimension to this is unlike any embossing folder I have ever used – it is multi-dimensional! The sentiments are from the Altenew Sentiments and Quotes Stamp Set.

These inks remind me of the excellent inks from Lawn Fawn and Ranger… so be sure to check out the video on them HERE. I know there are a lot of inks out there that I think stamp well. It is good to have so many options!

  1. lovely cards!!! Thanks for the video, I love to see new products in action. My favorite inks are Stampin Up, but the rest are a really close second!!

  2. I forgot the most important part, I recently started buying the WPlus9 & love the ease of use of those stamp pads, even coloring.

  3. I love the distress inks. But, I’ve been into everything watercolor lately. And, although there isn’t an ink line. I love the Gansai Tambi and Peerless. I’d love to try the Hero Arts ink line. They definitely have some awesome colors.

  4. My experience with ink pads has been minimal. Started with Stampin’ Up but so,d all those. Was never very happy with them because they were so uneven and diffuse to cover a stamp evenly. Most of mine are the newer PTI pads, which seem to be fine. My favorite black used to be Memento but now I prefer Versafine. Would love to try these new ones by Altenew and appreciate the chance to win your giveaway.

  5. I use a variety of ink pads but tend to reach for my versa magic chalk ink pads the most.
These Altenew inks look beautiful and takes the guess work out of layer stamping.

  6. I use several different inks. Encore, Versafine and Ranger’s Archivals are my favs. Now I must try Altenew as well.

  7. I have the full line of Stampin’ Up! inks, so that’s what I usually use, except for Versafine Onyx Black. I love Altenew stamps, too! Thanks for the opportunity to win a set!

  8. I think of all the new releases that I am in favor of is the Die-namacis Absract Cover Up die cut. I can’t wait to get started using the die cut. Thank You Jennifer for all your wonderful videos on cardmaking.

  9. I only have SU! and PTI inks but I think I like SU!
Thanks for the chance to win! You are always so sweet!

  10. I just got some of the crisp inks last week!!! I totally love them!!!!! I love those new embossing folders, can’t wait to get my hands on them. Tell Lila thank you for the message, she is just too cute!!!

  11. Versatile is my favorite stamp line because their black ink always makes my stamping look great. I am intrigued by the Altenew inks for color, though.

  12. I haven’t tried the Alte New inks but plan on doing just that. Currently my favorite inks are from Papertrey Ink and Simon Says Stamp!

  13. I’ve never used the altenew ink, and will definitely have to try them! Personally, I love the distress inks the most.

  14. Those stamps are fantastic!! I love the look of the roses and they look so easy to do!! The inks look fabulous together as well! I LOVE those new embossing folders, they are definitely a must have!! I have a variety of inks from different companies but my favorites right now are Distress Inks, Memento ( can use with my Copics) and Ranger Archival Inks! There are a few other inks that I really want to try and these have gone on that list as well!! Thank Judy for your thoughtfulness and thanks Jennifer for the chance to win!

  15. I have several inks but I guess my favorites would be the distress inks….Thanks for a great giveaway!

  16. I don’t really know what my favorite it. I’m just getting started with many different lines and trying to figure out that very question!

  17. I use stampin up! ink, anna griffin ink and many others. The Altenew ink colors are beautiful and bright. I think it is GREAT that you can buy the perfect colors to do the layered roses because it is hard to find all the colors of other inks at a store. Thank you Jennifer for all you’ve taught me!

  18. Brilliant Videos–> Always! Thank you, Judy for your generous ink offering and Jennifer for passing on to us for a chance to win…I hope it’s lil ole inkless new stamper Me 😉

  19. I like the Memento inks, distress inks and Versafine.
I am just learning about the Altenew and can’t wait to try the new ones for layering.

  20. These are cool ink pads. Love the matching colors. I use a mixture of Hero Arts, Simon Says, and PTI. And then of course, Distress Inks. But I have many others on my wish list, and have now added these. Love the roses!

  21. These contain colors the Tsukineko dew drops do not contain and I am really thrilled that these cover some colors that I currently mix.

  22. My favorite black ink is versafine. SU’s inks coordinate with their cardstock and ribbons so that’s very convenient. I love watercoloring so that’s my latest passion. The ink lines just keep getting better and better.

  23. My fave inks are distress ink, versafine, momento and spray inks – glimmer mist.
I like the Altenew, don’t think to buy but maybe a change to win…

But for now my favourites are the Distress inkpads. I am a huge fan of these layered stamping sets but I haven’t had a chance to buy any yet. So thank you so much Judy for letting us have this oportunity to win this set. I never win any of these giveaways, but I am still hoping 😉 Have a lovely day everyone.

  26. I usually use (and like) the memento line as well as the versafine inks. Very interested in these new inks though!

My favorite Ink is Stampin’UP! Water based dye inks because they are the first good inks, I have invested in after all of the pigment inks I collected while Carol Duvall was on. I think pigments were the only inks and as the stamping industry has exploded more companies are coming up with their own line of dye inks. I would love to try some Lawn Fawn.
