Video: Stacked Shape Die Cutting + Giveaway
Hello. Recently it seems that stacking die sets – dies that are the same shape but different sizes – are becoming more and more popular. Today’s video shows how to use all of the stacked shape dies together to create some quick cards.

Stacked die sets are great since they offer many size options of the same shape. But the best part? There are so many fun ways you can use them together. Today’s card is a simple example… using a stacked heart die set from My Favorite Things.
I started by using a piece of tape to connect all of the hearts together. I cut these hearts from some new (and insanely gorgeous) colors of cardstock from My Favorite Things – Tropical Teal, Blue Raspberry, Peach Bellini, and Persimmon. Next, I assembled the different colored pieces together like a puzzle, adding foam adhesive to certain hearts creating dimension. Easy peasy, huh? But it looks like it took a lot of effort!
For a couple of the cards, I cut the MFT Love & Adore you die from some Neenah White Cardstock and adhered the sentiment on top of the hearts using some Matte Multi Medium adhesive. (Using the Fine-Line applicator tool made it easy to apply the adhesive to the small areas. I am still deciding if I love this applicator, but so far so good. I will keep you updated.) Finally, I (of course) added some Wink of Stella shimmer to some of the hearts and Glossy Accents to the sentiment on one of the cards for some extra shine.
For the other two cards, I cut a sentiment from the MFT I Love You More stamp set into two greetings… one for the outside and one for the inside of the card. I white heat embossed the sentiment on to a strip of vellum for one of the cards and directly on top of the stacked hearts on the other.
Using stacked dies together creates fun and fast cards. This technique would also work great with scraps of patterned paper.
ADDITIONAL INSPIRATION
So I showed this card to my friend Heather Ruwe. She immediately was inspired and created a card using circle stacking dies but in a very creative way. I asked her if I could share it here and she said yes. I LOVE it. You can find out more about her card HERE. She is awesome – be sure to check out her blog and give her some love.
