VIDEO: Stamp Gift Bag + Paper Crafts Special Thanks Blog Hop + Giveaway
Hello. I have lots to share today! First, I have a video showing a stamped goodie bag along with another example of rubber cement masking. This post is also part of a very special blog hop. (More on that below.)

I’m not sure there is a better gift for a crafty friend then a handmade gift bag containing a special stamp and ink. Creating the gift bag is easy, thanks to the must-have Goodie Bag die from Lawn Fawn. I decided to do lots of stamping and inking on the bag with some of my favorite products.
I first stamped the My Favorite Things bear using their Black Hybrid Ink. (Note that I made the bear image taller by doing some selective inking because I wanted him to peek over the heart.) I then colored the bear with Copic Markers and applied rubber cement over the image to mask it. For the background, I applied Tumbled Glass Distress Ink and stamped the Snowfall Background from My Favorite Things over the bear image. The rubber cement protects the bear and resists all the color I applied on top. Very cool! The rubber cement easily rubs away.
I stamped the Bossy Joscie “bless your heart” sentiment on a Simon Says Stamp heart die… replacing the “o” with a small die cut heart.
I took the two pieces of the gift bag and adhered them together. Inside the bag is a stamp and mini ink pad – the same stamp I used on the front of the bag. I really love this “bless your heart” stamp because the sentiment works for many occasions and the wood block is engraved – – such nice quality for a gift! This bag size is also great for a gift card or even jewelry.
I can’t wait to make more of these.
BLOG HOP
Today I am part of a very important, special and large blog hop – the Paper Crafts & Scrapbooking Magazine Special Thanks Blog Hop.
It was recently announced that Paper Crafts and Scrapbooking Magazine would be shutting its doors. This has hit the industry hard. Yes, we will miss the magazine and seeing lovely cards in print. But what I will miss more is the people behind the magazine and the community they formed.
I worked for many years with Creating Keepsakes Magazine and went on to be a Go-To-Gal for Paper Crafts. (The two combined along the way.) Over the years I *loved* the people I worked with. They had such enthusiasm and passion for bringing crafting inspiration to everyone. They opened doors for crafters and encouraged them. And although I ended my time as a Go-To-Gal because my plate was overflowing, I loved and still love the faces behind the magazine. (To the team at PC&S… I love you for always being understandings and supportive. I will forever be grateful. XO.)
This has been a difficult change for many folks in our hobby. But it is more important now than ever that we keep our community strong, happy, encouraging and inspiring. This hop is perfect for that! I hope you will take the time to visit the many wonderful blogs along the way.
The next person on the hop is the wonderfully talented and super sweet (yes – I am her biggest fan)… Taheerah Atchia! (And a big thanks to Taheerah for organizing this. XO)
