Video: Coloring Embossing Paste + Blog Hop + Giveaway
Hi there! If you have been to my blog before, you know I am a big fan of new stamp companies. New companies means that we have a growing industry – such a good thing! Today I am taking part in the Create A Smile Video Hop. Create A Smile is a newer stamp company based in Germany. Using their stamps, I created a simple card that shows you how to add some color to an embossing paste background.

Sometimes it is fun to create a simple card with a simple stamped image and a simple background. Today’s card is just that! I started by heat embossing the Create A Smile Smiling Snowflake image with a new WOW Platinum Glitter Embossing Powder. (Perfect for the holidays!) I wanted to protect the image from the embossing paste so I tore pieces of tape to create a mask. I then applied some Wendy Vecchi white embossing paste on top using the Falling Snow Stencil from Simon Says Stamp.
After the white paste dots dried, I went back with my Copic markers and colored some of the raised dots… and added shine to others with my Wink of Stella Marker. I also added the same embossing powder to a few of the circles using a VersaMark pen. I really like the look of the all the different colors…
I also stamped a word bubble image from another Create A Smile set (available 11/4) using VersaFine Black Ink and heat embossed it with clear embossing powder. This gives it some shine and draws your eye to the sentiment. I cut out the sentiment and went around the edge with a black marker to give it a finished look.
I love using holiday themed stamps and stretching them for any occasion. This will be the perfect happy card to send to a friend I am missing this winter.
