Video: Resisting Stamped Image + GIVEAWAY
Hi there. Today’s video shows how to create a resist over a stamped image so you can add a dark inked background behind/around it. Trust me – it is so much easier than it sounds. 🙂

I love the look of an inked or stamped background… especially around a bright, focal image. Thanks to a “resist” technique, this is possible with only one layer.
I first stamped the Paper Smooches A Blessed Christmas dove with my favorite Copic-friendly MFT Black Hybrid Ink on 110lb Neenah white cardstock. (I like using the thicker Neenah when I do a lot of inking or Glossy Accents, etc.) After coloring it with Copic Markers, I covered the image with Glossy Accents. Once this dried, the Glossy Accents serves as a barrier over the stamped image. Therefore, it will resist any ink you put on top. So very cool! I then added lots of blended Distress Ink… and drops of pearlized water. (To see how to create pearlized water, check out THIS video.)
I also created a window with faux stitching using the Paper Smooches Stitched Frames die set. I have used many faux stitching dies in the past, but this set is one of the best. It has MANY unique options of dies in it… and I LOVE that it stitches around a window. I also really like the mini border stitched dies included (like the one I used coming out the sides of the window). Little touches like this really make a card with lots of white space shine. Love.
