Video: Peerless Watercolor + Storage + Jane’s Doodles Blog Hop + Giveaway
I am back with another watercolor video. This time I used Peerless watercolors… along with iron-off embossing and pearlized water. I also share another option for storage of the Peerless watercolors. This is also part of a fun blog hop with a giveaway… more on that below.

I am still loving my Peerless watercolors. They are so easy to work with and intense in color. I adore the dark outline it leaves along the edges… making shading so easy to achieve. (I do also like the Kuretake Gansai Tambi Watercolor – these are my two favorites.) For this card, I combined Peerless watercolor (but you could use any) with “pearlized water” that I made my mixing Perfect Pearls and water in a mist bottle. (To see how to create this mix, check out this video HERE.) The results? Fun color with a pearly shine. And this owl image from the Jane’s Doodles Wise Owl stamp set is just so much fun to color! (It is out of stock right now, but they expect more in soon. SSS will also be getting it soon.)
PEERLESS WATERCOLOR STORAGE
In THIS older video, I gave a close look at the Peerless watercolor and how I first stored them in coin pocket pages. Although I sometimes still use this system, I have since created another storage system and I love it. This idea came from a friend – Jo Ann Danchik – and she said I could pass it on to all of you.
This Peerless Watercolor storage – which uses an inexpensive 4×6 photo album – has a few advantages. First, if you get the bonus set (which I love), you don’t have to cut up your watercolor pieces. Second, it is nice and compact and has plastic to keep everything tidy and protected. I like both systems, but reach for this one more often. I found THIS photo album that worked great for me. Maybe this system would work for you!
OTHER HELPFUL LINKS
Here are some other helpful watercolor links:
- Closer Look at Peerless – This video shows my other storage system for Peerless, along with more info on how they work.
- Kuretake Gansai Tambi Watercolor – Since creating that last video, I found these and love them just as much as Peerless. I have since packed away all my other watercolors.
- Iron-Off Embossing – This video shows another example of iron-off embossing. It is definitely worth getting an iron out for!
- Creating Pearlized Water – Creating “pearlized water” is simple – just mix Perfect Pearls with water – this video shows how.
This post is also part of the Jane’s Doodles SPOTLIGHT blog hop. I have always liked Jane’s fun stamp designs, so I was very happy to play along.
The next stop on the hop is one of my favorite blogs – the blog of Marion Vagg.
One lucky winner from the hop will get THREE Jane’s Doodles stamp sets. Just leave a comment here by 9/1/14 for your chance. For more information, head to the Jane’s Doodles blog.
