Video: Adding Texture & Shine… + Hero Arts Discount Code + Giveaway!

Hello! I have a lot to share today… including a video showing how to add texture and shine to stamped images… a discount code for the new Hero Arts products… and a giveaway.

[All supplies are linked to multiple sources in the thumbnails at the end of this post. To watch the video in HD on YouTube, click HERE.]

I am always looking for new and/or easier ways to add fun finishing touches to my projects. Today I show how to cover stamped images with a coat of WOW Ultra High Clear Glossy Embossing for a ton of texture and shine. So easy! (You could always use several layers of regular clear embossing powder or Glossy Accents for a similar look.) I used the new Hero Arts Holly Jolly holly stamps for the technique. This stamp set is unique in that it has a stamp for the holly outline and the solid holly image. That way you can use them apart or together. So versatile. LOVE. (They also have a poinsettia set like this. The supplies are listed at the end of this post – just scroll down.)

Isn’t that shine great? I also added some gold shine with drops of Hero Arts Gold Mist. (It turns out this stuff is hard to get – more should be in stock soon.)

The other new Hero Arts stamp I used is the Dotted Grid Background. Only a little bit of it shows on the red, but it is a dynamite stamp.

I wanted to also mention that I am having a lot of luck with using the Inkadinkado Stamping Mat. The tiny bit of cushion it gives seems to help me get better results when stamping solid images.

As I mentioned in the video, I am hoping to do a Product Release Close-Up video focusing on these new Hero Arts product soon. I just am waiting to get a few of them still. In the meantime…

  8. I’d have to say the Holly Jolly Stamp Set. I believe that’s mainly because of your focus on the product – your video makes using this stamp to create beautiful cards look so easy.

  9. Hi Jennifer
Frosty wishes and family and friends are just so cute. I can imagine all the great cards to make with these. I love creating holiday cards.

  10. Love how you did the leaf technique on this one. I also love the way the leaves shine so much. I’ll have to give both techniques a try.

  16. I am a huge fan of Hero Arts! They will always be one of my all time favorite stamp companies for sure. As for a favorite its hard to pick just one…but the first one that caught my eye would be the Christmas Crystals! I love how gorgeous and unique this set is 🙂

  17. Hero Arts has such fun stuff. I like the Holly set you used and the technique of stamping 3 times to get the shading effect. Would like to try that with the Poinsettia set also. Thanks for all of your great videos – I smile every time I see one in my inbox!

  18. Wow, how can I possibly name a favorite new product? I don’t have any die inks; I have the old red Sizzix die cut press machine that I am just learning how to use with thin dies; I have metal stencils but no plastic ones. You are teaching me how to use stencils, and I love the triangle stencil and the dots, all the ones that are basic. I love the colors of the Hero Arts shadow inks. And the label dies–the tiny joy labels and I think I saw some basic frames — all those are my favorites! P.S. I have this problem naming my favorite color or favorite book, since I like too many!

  19. WOW there sure are a lot of comments added – I have to say my favorite (two) are the Christmas Stamp and Die and the Holiday Stamp and Die set. I saw a video of yours’ a couple of weeks ago using the word cut-outs and loved it so, I cut out 3 or 4 of the dies and then glued them on top of each other like you did. They sure do make a nice statement on the front of cards – I hoping to get a couple more.

  20. Thanks for another great video. I already ordered the Leaves and Branches background, so I suppose that is my favorite new product. : ) Thanks for the chance to win!

  21. I love them all, but I really like the city map background stamp – would be a good one for masculine cards and I have 5 sons.

  22. Hi Jennifer. I love the holly leaves and the card you made with them! Always love your videos and your informative ideas on how to use these sets. Keep up the good work!
    Thank you!!

  23. Hello, I really like the Family & Firends because of the bottlebrush trees. Can be whimsical or classic. Also like the Holly set and the mistletoe set. Thanks

THANK YOU for sharing your CREATIVE INSPIRATION and for giving us the chance to win too!!!

  25. My fav of the new Hero Arts release is Hero Arts Clear Stamps FROSTY WISHES with the matching die. Nothing says Christmas more then Frosty!

  26. That background stamp that you used was pretty awesome, that would certainly be on the top of my wish list. Another great video and card, thanks for sharing, you inspire me to live in my craft room:)

  27. Great video, & gorgeous card, as always! I love how you give alternatives to what you use or do. And for the record, I really like all the gold “splatters” you did! 🙂 I would have to say my favorite in the new Hero Arts release is the Tiny Stars Grid background stamp. I’m always on the lookout for a good background stamp, and that one looks like I could apply some of the techniques I learned in Stretch Your Stamps 2. Thanks so much for sharing this, and for the chance to win!

  28. Wow I love love love the glossy leaves and the gold accents! Thank you I am so happy I found you on you tube!

  29. I am loving the new stamp and die sets! But if I had to choose just one, I’d have to say the Holiday Tree set. Christmas trees make me smile!

  30. Love your new card. Would love to try it with the peace poinsettias stamp set. I also love the dotted grid background stamp. It is way to hard to choose a favorite.
