Video: Adding Texture & Shine… + Hero Arts Discount Code + Giveaway!

Hello! I have a lot to share today… including a video showing how to add texture and shine to stamped images… a discount code for the new Hero Arts products… and a giveaway.

[All supplies are linked to multiple sources in the thumbnails at the end of this post. To watch the video in HD on YouTube, click HERE.]

I am always looking for new and/or easier ways to add fun finishing touches to my projects. Today I show how to cover stamped images with a coat of WOW Ultra High Clear Glossy Embossing for a ton of texture and shine. So easy! (You could always use several layers of regular clear embossing powder or Glossy Accents for a similar look.) I used the new Hero Arts Holly Jolly holly stamps for the technique. This stamp set is unique in that it has a stamp for the holly outline and the solid holly image. That way you can use them apart or together. So versatile. LOVE. (They also have a poinsettia set like this. The supplies are listed at the end of this post – just scroll down.)

Isn’t that shine great? I also added some gold shine with drops of Hero Arts Gold Mist. (It turns out this stuff is hard to get – more should be in stock soon.)

The other new Hero Arts stamp I used is the Dotted Grid Background. Only a little bit of it shows on the red, but it is a dynamite stamp.

I wanted to also mention that I am having a lot of luck with using the Inkadinkado Stamping Mat. The tiny bit of cushion it gives seems to help me get better results when stamping solid images.

  1. Hi Jennifer. I always love to see what you create. Not only are you super talented, but you are so generous and you have such a great speaking voice to listen to. I just love this card and I think the gold looks great. I love it when other ccrrafters use the fliking on inks, but I am so worried that I just can’t bring myself to do it on my ccards. :0). Maybe some day. As for my favorite from this release I’m going to have to go for the leaves that you have used. I love that you get that fantastic outline to go with it. It truly just made the whole thing pop to me. Thanks for this chance. Like I said, you are just so sweet. Hugs Lisa G

  2. I love the Holly Jolly stamp set you used in the video! I don’t have anything like it in my collection and your video gave so much inspiration. Every layer you did to the card got better and better!! Thanks so much for sharing!!!

  3. You make it hard, we have to pick one? I think I like the Holly Jolly in the first row best but then I go to the second row. I’m like the little kid with the Christmas catalog. I like …, I like.
Plus I loved the demonstration. Thank you.

  4. Loved your video and of course thumbs upped it. My favorite is any of the background stamps, as they are so versatile.

  5. So many fun things. I really like the holly stamp that you used in your card, but I’m also liking all the great background stamps!

  6. Hero arts has a lovely style to their stamps. I really like that cross hatch reindeer and the winter wonder word set. You’ve done another excellent video Jennifer! I really like the pop and the shine on those holly leaves!

  7. Lovely card and I do like that stamp set but I’m drooling over that background stamp; Leaves, Berries and Branches! I can see it stamped on ivory in a multitude of autumn colors or embossed with metallic shades on a black cardstock. It’s one of those backgrounds that don’t need to stay in the background! Thanks for all the great videos, too!

  8. I absolutely LOVE the Holly Jolly stamp set and the technique you demonstrated for giving them shadows without having to color them! Thanks for sharing your talent with us!

  9. I love the CHRISTMAS TREE Coordinating Stamp And Die Set ! I love the detail on the die. Saves me from all the fussy cutting, that is what a die should do ! But most of them are gorgeous !

  10. I really like the holiday tree stamp set AND of course the holly set that you used! I’m so glad they are making dies for so many of their stamp sets!

  11. Christmas Crystals Stamp Set are my favourite Jennifer!
Love your card, it is simply stunning!
    Thanks for sharing.

  12. I really like the bold “Cheers” stamp. It’s a very Australian way of saying “Thanks”. All it needs is a “Mate” stamp to go with it. Cheers mate 🙂

  13. I’m a sucker for a die/stamp set, but I’m really loving the reindeer stencil and the snowflake stencil! So cute!

  14. So many new goodies to see! I do like the holly leaves you used and after that it would have to be the background stamps or the stencils. I have enjoyed your videos and have bought a few things to try some techniques you have shown with background stamps and stencils. Thank you so much for the inspiration!

  15. Lots of great stuff. I can’t decide which I like more, the family and friends set or the holiday petals and leaves. I also liked the background stamp you used on your beautiful card. Thanks.

  16. Oh, to choose just one favorite!! I’m loving the music print star stamp- I can imagine lots of uses for that in addition to Christmas!!

  17. If I had to pick just one product from the new release, it would have to be the “Merry Christmas Tree Stamp”, though I love all the background stamps, the stencils, and the stamp and die combos too! Thanks for the chance to win!

  18. My favorites are: christmas crystals, bits and pieces, decorate a tree, leaves branches background and i could go on and on. Love ’em all!

  19. I love and want it all! The holly stamps in the video are fantastic and I love the foil paper. Thanks so much!

  20. I adore the new stencils a lot. Those are so great. I definitely need to invest in some stencils so that’s happening! All of their holiday stamps are beautiful too!

  21. I love the holly leaves set that you used. I really want to try the techniques that were shown. I also really like the Christmas tree stamp and die set. So hard to choose from so many great things. Have a great day! I look forward to your next video. TFS!

  22. It’s hard to pick a favourite, but I do like the Family & Friends set – those trees are unusual and it has so many little stamps to really build something pretty!

    What a great line-up!
