Video: Copic Layered Background + Video Hop + Giveaway

Hello! Today I have a video showing a fun way to create layering with Copic Markers and inks. (I also share ideas if you don’t have Copics.) This video is also part of a video hop in honor of my friend, Laura Sterckx, reaching a YouTube milestone. Check it out…

I love the look of layering Copic Markers with stamping. It is amazing how deep, rich, vibrant and “dimensional” the results can be. Here, I created an ocean background with various Copics and stamped on top of it with a Copic-friendly ink – My Favorite Things Hybrid Ink. I love that it stays clear and crisp. I also showed how to create bubbles on a Copic background with a Colorless Blender pen. Such a cool technique! Finally, I showed how to add “dimension” to a solid stamped image with Copics.

All of the stamps (including the ocean images, sentiment and background stamp) are new from My Favorite Things. Aren’t they adorable? And I quickly and easily cut the “wonky” shaped piece with the new My Favorite Things Blueprints 15 die set.

VIDEO HOP

As I mentioned, this video is part of a special video hop in honor of my friend Laura Sterckx. Laura is a 17 year old from Belguim and one of the best cardmakers out there. After seeing her work a long time ago, I contacted her to be part of one of our Online Card Classes. We have since become friends and I completely admire her. Her cards are soft, lovely and creative. And she is bright, sweet and thoughtful. I have to add that she is always the first to turn in assignments for classes and is always so clear and excited. If you don’t follow her blog or YouTube channel, I recommend you do. I am also happy to see young folks in this hobby… and she is a talented one. She is going places!

So… because of my admiration for Laura, I am very honored to be part of her video hop celebrating her reaching 1000 YouTube subscribers. There are lots of great artists participating, along with great prizes.

Be sure to check out the next video in this video hop HERE.
