Video: Clear Card with Die Cuts

Hello! I am back with a video showing how to create a clear card with floating die cuts. This is such a great way to create a unique card and make good use of your dies. (This card is featured over on the Avery Elle blog today, too.)

Well, today happens to be my birthday (shhhhhh) so I thought I would celebrate by sharing a card with cheerful balloons. I started with a Hero Arts acetate notecard for my clear card base. For the bold colorful balloons, I used Avery Elle inks in Aquamarine, Raspberry and Celery to stamp the new Avery Elle balloon images. Cutting them out was quick, thanks to the easy-to-position matching balloon dies. (I am not one who usually buys matching dies. But these dies can be used on their own, too, with colorful cardstock. Therefore, this set seems to be a good investment to me.) I love the big, round, happy balloons!

I added black string to the knots of the balloon and used a small touch of Multi Medium to keep them from coming undone. I also stamped little stars with White Staz-On ink on the clear card. This white ink works great on clear cards!

The only thing you have to be careful of with clear cards is hiding the adhesive on the other side. But this is easy! I die cut three of the same balloons from white cardstock and adhered them to the backside of the stamped balloons. I also added white balloons on the inside of the card (where you can add a message) and the back of the card (for your “handstamped by” image)… being sure to line them all up. Easy!

I love clear cards. Here are some links to others I have done in the past:

Thanks for stopping by. Off to have cake! XO
