2 Videos: Partial Die Cutting + Release Close-Up + SSS Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hello! I am back with lots of fun for you again, including TWO videos — one on partial die cutting with a zig zag fold card and one with a product release close-up. I also have a Simon Says Stamp new release blog hop and giveaway! Let’s get started…

Partial die cutting is a great technique for getting unique looks from your dies. All you have to do is only have part of your paper and die between the cutting plates and having the rest hang out… allowing the cutting pressure to only be applied to part. I combined this with a zig zag fold to create a fun butterfly “pop up” type of card.

I used the new SSS Friendship Butterflies stamps and matching dies for the partial die cutting and a two-tone stamping technique on the butterflies. (You can see another video showing this type of stamping HERE.) Zig zag fold cards are always a fun surprise and unexpected.

On the back of the card, I used the new SSS Made By stamp set for personalization. On the front, I added super cute and super tiny flower sequins with Multi-Medium.

So I tried a new type of video and I would love to hear what you think of it. It isn’t your typical “look at these products” video but rather a “here is a close-up look at these products AND ideas for using them.” I thought this might be helpful and inspiring… at least I am hoping it is. Please let me know what you think! I am always trying to think of new ways to inspire in videos. (Click HERE to watch on YouTube. If you don’t see the links mentioned in the video, you can find them in the YouTube description.)

Here is a look at all the new products. (The supplies I used are at the end of this post.)

  1. Jennifer, thank you for doing the product “showcase” video for the new SSS release. I’ve seen a couple of “haul” videos on YouTube, and was never impressed, because they didn’t have any suggestions on what to DO with the products. In fact, I now avoid that sort of video. But I’m glad I watched yours–it was much more helpful. I haven’t seen the video on the butterfly card yet, but love the look of it, and am looking forward to seeing your process. Tfs!

  2. I love watching your videos! And it works… I buy more stuff!! I have really fallen in love with the Simon Says Stamp products and Hero Arts following you. I also love the way you pull all this together as a busy mom!!

  3. Yep, I enjoyed the video. Much better than a “haul” video, although it is always valuable to see the product “IRL” compared to just the image in the store. I’d love to see you work with various ways of using those tiny images included in stamp sets. Thanks for always looking out for our best interests!

  4. Wow, so many new products; thanks for sharing your review of the new SSS release. Love the butterfly card and could definitely see the benefit of the clear stamps with matching dies. Again, thanks for sharing.

  5. Enjoyed the ideas for the new products and would love to see more videos like it. I think if you keep telling us about the products you love (or love to use) it would be great. Wouldn’t want you to get bogged down trying to review every release though…I’d rather see your amazing technique and project videos. Thank you for sharing with us..

  6. I liked seeing the new releases and suggestions for use as I do not have a local scrapbooking/card making store anymore so now I have to rely on ordering through the mail. Watching the new releases makes my decision to purchase a little easier. Thanks for sharing and inspiring.
