Hello! Today I am part of a fun challenge (more on that below) and have a video showing lots of tips and tricks… including my favorite inks to use with Copic Markers. (Yep! I found one I am liking!)

I get a lot of questions about the best ink for Copic Markers. I have three that I think work well – Memento Dye, Studio Calico Color Theory and My Favorite Things Hybrid Ink. Most people (including me) have been using Memento Dye Ink and they are good inks. Studio Calico’s new line is great for Copics, but they do not have a black ink. The newest? That is the My Favorite Things Hybrid Ink. The black ink is my new favorite for Copics! It is nice and dark and works well for many other techniques, too.
I used this new MFT Hybrid Ink to stamp these adorable Avery Elle images before adding quick coloring with my Copics. I also added tiny dots with a white pen… totally inspired by Kathy Racoosin.
For the background, I used a fun stencil from Tim Holtz and added white embossing paste and Enchanted Gold Sparkle Embossing Powder. I love the texture it gives!
This card was created as part of a fun challenge hosted by a sweet new friend of mine – Taheerah. Every Monday she has the “Cure For the Monday Blues” challenge and I am the guest this week. (Be sure to stop by her blog – she will be giving away a spot in the Watercolor for Card Makers class!) You have a week to go and enter your card, too. Here is the photo that inspired the card above. I loved the soft grey, touch of peach and yellow and baby theme. (Source.)
