Hello! I have a quick and easy technique video for you today – gradient inking over a stencil. This would work with any stencil. I shared this over on the SSS blog, but wanted to share it here too…

So this next card was a result of two current facts: 1. I am addicted to stencils. 2. It is a really busy time for me right now with the kiddos and life.
Because of these two facts, I had to come up with something super fast and easy to do with stencils. Thus – gradient inking. This could not be any easier! I simply applied Distress Inks with my inking tools over the Hero Arts Zig Zag stencil with the help of some painters tape for masking. (You could use any inks and inking tool for this, but Distress Inks blend like butter. Wait – butter? Does butter blend? Not sure. 🙂 But these blend reallllly well.)
The greeting is from the BasicGrey/Hero Arts You Make Me Smile set… and I embossed it with black sparkle embossing powder. It is so cool how the glitter in this powder just seems to match whatever you have on your card.
Easy peasy. Sometimes that is the best way to deal with an addiction + lack of time. 😉
Just a little heads up! It is “Inspiration and Release Week” over a Lawn Fawn and the amount of inspiring and awesome cards going up blows me away! I will be playing along a bit later, but in the meantime, you may want to check it out…
