Video: Flip-It Stamping + Studio Calico Discount Code + Giveaway!
Hello! Today’s video shows a quick and easy birthday card featuring flip-it stamping… where you stamp with the backside of a clear stamp. I also have a great discount code for over at Studio Calico that gets you their newest card kit for only $10! (See below.)

You know me – I love to use stamps in creative ways. Here, I took a stamp set with graphic images and used them to create candles! I picked the “Make a Wish” sentiment from the newest Studio Calico Hello, Hello Card Kit and stamped with the backside of the sentiment to create the candle itself. (I call this “flip it stamping” since “backside stamping” sounded a bit inappropriate. LOL. You can do this with any symmetrical stamp to create a backdrop or shadow for the regular image. This works great with many sentiments which often have a rectangular backside. I also like it with circle, heart and star images.) I then white heat embossed the greeting on top and stamped “flames” with the leaf from the stamp set.
In the video, I share my favorite tip for fixing images that don’t stamp entirely. Fantastix are perfect for this. They are firm foam-like tools that are great for applying little areas of ink. I love them with any ink, but especially the Hero Arts Shadow Inks I used here. (You can see another video using Fantastix HERE and HERE. Oh and that awesome “friend” die? Wow. So intricate and lovely. That is new and exclusive to Studio Calico. (I also like their “happy” and “thanks” dies. I think some of these are sold out but they said they will be getting more soon.) I layered up 4 of white die cuts and topped it with glitter paper.
In the video, I also showed a second card using another new stamp set from Studio Calico. I kept this one simple and just colored around it with Copic Markers.
