Video: Faux Metal Embellishments
Hello! Today’s video shows how to use your dies and embossing powder to create faux metal embellishments. It is simple!

I shared this card last week on the Hero Arts blog, but received questions so I thought I would post it here. The video shows another great way to stretch your dies… by turning your die cuts into faux metal embellishments. I used the new Hero Arts Blooming Flower die and glued several layers together. (However, you could literally do this with any die you have! I thought this one was perfect because it looks like a medallion and is therefore impressive in metal.) After cutting the layered die cut in half and pressing the pieces onto a Versamark Ink pad, I added silver embossing powder. I put on two layers of silver to give a smoother look and then sprinkled on a little gold for a mixed effect. So easy.
I also pressed Versamark Ink around the outside edge of a notecard and added a mix of powders to make it match the medallion. The greeting? That is from the older Hero Arts Merci Bouquet set.
If you are interested in any of the other new Hero Arts products, you can find many of them HERE.
Have you ever tried a technique like this? Would love to hear. You could mix any powders!
