Video: Stamping and Glitter + 3 Giveaways!
Happy Wednesday. Today I have another video (can you tell I am enjoying them lately?) showing how to combine stamping and glitter.
This card came together very quickly! I started by stamping the Winnie & Walter (a new company – more on that below) Big Bang Confetti open diamond background repeatedly in various colors of Simon Says Stamp inks. I also stamped over a few of the open diamonds with solid ones for a bit of interest. (I love a stamp set that offers “building” effects like this.) I then stamped a few more diamonds in black along with the Winnie & Walter “hello” greeting. The card was simple but needed a little something else. So I stamped over all the black stamping with Versamark ink and added Ranger’s Sticky embossing powder. This embosses and becomes sticky (watch the video for some important tips)… allowing me to add Ranger’s Black Diamond Stickles Dry Glitter. This is a great way to add glitter to a stamped image!
When using the Ranger’s Sticky embossing powder, I recommend a bit of practice. Practice the amount of heat needed, etc. Once you get it figured out, you will love it!
Some more ideas for you:
- Metal Leafing: I did a very similar technique but with metal leafing a few weeks ago.
- More Winnie & Walter: I have seen several talented gals creating with these new stamps. Here are some favorites: Stars, Hearts and Stencil.
- Simon Says Stamp Ink: For a better look at these inks, check out this video.
GIVEAWAY
Winnie & Walter is a newer stamp company. I am always happy to see a new stamp company pop up… especially when their designs are as fun as theirs. I immediately had to order these sets and am so happy I did. And guess what? I have THREE Winnie & Walter sets to give away. For your chance, leave a comment here by 10:59pmEST on 3/10/14. Good luck.
