Video: Staggered Die Cuts, Clear Cards and More

Hello! Today I have a video along with two bonus cards. The video shows two fun techniques: staggered die cuts and a clear card

(Supplies are linked in the thumbnails at the end of this post.)

For the “hello” piece on this, I layered/staggered six Lawn Fawn hello die cuts. (I used Simon Says Stamp cardstock for this. Love the colors.) When I was done, I covered the whole piece with Wink of Stella shimmer and the top blue “hello” with Glossy Accents. It reminds me of candy!

I cut the edge of the white piece using the new Lawn Fawn Speech Bubble Border die. This border die is genius and I am seeing so many people use it in creative ways! I assembled everything on a clear Hero Arts acetate notecard. (Check the video to see how.) That sweet greeting on the inside is from the Lawn Fawn Starry Backdrops set.

I really enjoyed all of the new Lawn Fawn release… so I thought I would create a couple more cards. The first uses the same hello die, but I layered 6 black die cuts together for a bold look. I then added the perfectly perfect Lawn Fawn Let’s Polka sequins with Matte Multi Medium. (The best way to hold sequins – by far.) I love that there are flower sequins in the pack, too! Oh, and I threw in a few plain gems for fun. The notecard is one of Lawn Fawn’s 4-bar polka dot notecards turned inside out.

And I just couldn’t resist the new Lawn Fawn Let’s Roll set. Aren’t these images the cutest? I just colored them with Copic Markers and added Glossy Accents to the hearts and soy.

Before I go, I wanted to mention a few winners…

WINNERS

The lucky one who will get the set of Studio Calico Inks is Kristie Maynard and the winner of the Hero Arts stamps is Alanna N.

Hope you have a wonderful day and thanks for stopping by!

  1. I love the staggered layers of the Hello. I’ve seen them stacked, but not staggered. Must try that!

I’ve actually used a version of the staggered layers by putting a black one under the top layer to give it a shadow and some contrast. So many options!

    Thanks for another great video!

I just love these cards. I love the layered hello word it makes it so much more interesting and really helps to make the whole card. The large bubble also works great with the simplicity of the graphic. You do such wonderful work. I just love your style always clean and straight forward. Your colors are to die for. You really know how to use all your tools.
Thanks Jennifer for sharing all this knowledge with all of us. I know some may not be able to make comments so I’ll thank you for all of us.

  14. Hi Jennifer. I’m new to stamping. Could you tell me what the best product to clean a stamp is, please? I’m going to use the Studio Calico Color Theory. Your help would be gladly appreciated. 🙂

  15. Cute cards Jennifer. Sense it is nice and cold here, think I will make that card tomorrow, was trying to think of something colorful as this is the winter that doesn’t want to go away. TFS

  16. I got a Wink of Stella pen and I am sold!!! I’ve also taken your hint about glossy accents. Most of my cards go to OWH, so the glossy accents seals in the shimmer. Thanks for the great tip! It does add so much to a card.

  17. Love this layering look of the die cut. Can’t wait to try it. The colorful hello is so cheerful!

  18. I LOVE, love, love the “happy mail” stamp. I would use it all the time! Thanks for sharing!

  21. Loved all three cards. Never made a clear card, but will have to try one. Great way to cover the adhesive on a clear card. I learn so much from your videos. Thanks for sharing.
