Video: Shaped Balloon Card + Blog Hop + Giveaway!
Today I am part of the Simon Says Stamp Spring Release Blog Hop… showcasing some of the newest SSS products. My video shows some of the goodies… along with tips for creating a shaped balloon card and more…

I love shaped cards. For this balloon, I used the new Simon Says Stamp Balloon dies. Isn’t that the perfect balloon shape? I then created the shiny dots by first inking over the new dot stencil with the fabulous new Surf Blue Ink… and then adding a coat of clear embossing paste. I love the results!
I also used new stamp greetings – both the SSS Stripe Greetings and Birthday Messages sets – with Liquid Platinum embossing powder. I also covered the die cut stars with the same embossing so they matched perfectly.
I coated baker’s twine with Matte Multi Medium so that it could form it into the loops. Dries and holds perfectly! And this card fits nicely into a 5″x7″ envelope. Woot!

I used just a few of the many new products that Simon Says Stamp just released. So many great things! (You can see them all HERE.) But I had to point out one thing – the new inks and cardstocks. I really like the SSS inks because they have the same properties as the Hero Ink that I love so much – giving smooth results. (I have a video on these inks HERE.) And the new colors? They are the best yet. The cardstocks are perfection, too. I did a QUICK comparison here to other inks I use often… but I will be back with a better comparison soon. (Remember – colors may be off on the screen. But a comparison can still be made. The SSS Surf Blue and Audrey Blue are slightly more blue then the Hero Arts Soft Pool and Tide Pool. I really like them all! But I am a big fan of pools/teals and pinks.)
