Video: Stitching with Stamps

Hello!

I have a video today showing how you can use stamps to help with stitching on cards…

I really like the look of fabric and stitching on a card – it adds to the “handmade” feel of our creations. It does take a bit of time. But many coloring techniques do, too… so it is worth it! Also, you can take it with you and work on it while watching a movie or waiting for the kids at practice. Love that.

The Only Have Eyes for You stamp set from the January Simon Says Stamp card kit worked perfectly for this stitching technique. I also used Sticky Back Canvas – a favorite product of mine. The stitching tools are from the We R Memory Keepers Sew Easy line. I have had these for ages but just finally got around to using them. I am in love! It just makes everything easier and the case keeps it all together.

I did some raised tone-on-tone stamping for a subtle background. Just stamped the Tiny Hearts Background with Versamark and clear heat embossed. I also made my own felt embellishments by die cutting my favorite felt (from My Favorite Things) with the new Paper Smooches Hearts die. And the fake needle? That is foil cardstock cut with a Memory Box die.

(By the way, you can get 25% off site-wide (excluding brand new December products) at My Favorite Things through 12/31/13 using code SCS25. I recommend cardstock and felt!)

Here is one more color combo…

See you soon. Thanks for stopping by.
