Cheer Up

I’m back with another card that I created for a friend… hoping to bring them a smile…

I used the same My Favorite Things Cheerful Blessings stamp set I used in my last post. This stamp set truly makes me giddy. You can now get it at My Favorite Things or Simon Says Stamp.

I also used a MFT border stamp to create the pattern on the bottom. Although there are three colors in the pattern, I only used two inks. I stamped the bottom with Butter Bar yellow ink. I then stamped above it with the same ink… and then directly on top of it with Pale Tomato light red ink. (This gives the orange color. It is easy to double stamp with clear stamps!) Then on the top I just used the Pale Tomato. This layering of ink colors is great for getting more colors out of the inks you have.

And the hearts? Just punched them and added a bit of glitter with my Wink of Stella pen. Finally, I covered if with Glossy Accents for shine. I tell ya – these are eye-catching in real life…

I am really enjoying the pink/orange/yellow combo lately. What color combo are you lovin’ these days?

  1. Beautiful card here again Jenniffer, I really like the bright colors you´ve used too, and I think, this would look awesome in blue/green shades as well.
And thank you so much for the great stampset, I recieved in my mail yesterday afternoon, they´re awesome.

  2. This card made me smile. Right now I’m into combining soft, neutral colors with pops of bright color such as orange, bright pink, and green.

  3. Super love this! Between the sentiment and the colors it should cheer your friend right up 🙂

  4. Cool card! Fun border design, great color combo. Neat shiny hearts, as well. I LOVE Lisa’s new set, too. 🙂

  5. I love this color combination a lot. I either go the orange/yellow route or the blue/green way when it comes to colors. I have to delve more into my pinks & purples. I love your card & great tip of using 2 different inks on top of each other. I am going to see if it will work with my distress inks.

  6. Jennifer,
This is such an adorable card, awesome and bold colors combination.
My favorite color combinations right now are
Gold and blue, red and gold, black and silver.
