A Challenge

Today was an awesome mail day. Why? Because I got four handmade cards from friends. It amazed me at how much it lifted my spirits… and was a good motivator for me to make and send more cards.

You don’t need a reason to send a card. I truly believe the unexpected ones are the best. This one is going in the mail Monday to a friend…

Simple. Truly simple.

Stamp. Color. Done.

I used stamps from a new-to-me company – The Craft’s Meow. They have some incredible designs! (And it turns out the owner is really kind, too.) These stitched greetings are marvelous. Simon Says Stamp just started carrying their stamps and here are my favorites:

Sometimes when stamps are designed amazingly well, you don’t need to do much with them. These stamps are perfect examples of this. Sweet and simple.

So… I challenge you to join me. Join me in sending a few cards to a loved one for absolutely no reason. It will make them (and you!) feel good. Who do you plan to surprise?

Take care.

I’m planning to send a thank you card to my amazing veterinarian, unfortunately my last fur baby passed away just a few months ago, and for years he took care of my “tribe” of critters with most utmost care. As soon as I am done with “wedding” mania, I will be ready to make him a most special thank you card.

  13. Sometimes it’s so hard to just make myself go make a card or two. But, I really need to make cards for my aunt who is 88 years old and also for an elderly friend who was really there for me when I needed her. I’m now over a thousand miles away from both my aunt and my old friend and I don’t keep in touch as much as I should. Thanks for the push to brighten someone’s day. I know even the simplest card would would be welcomed by either of these two ladies.

  14. I’m making a card for my Dad’s 100th birthday which is an amazing event and I will be making a card for my college roomie and a cousin, whom I haven’t seen in a while! Oh and not to forget to mention, thank you notes for those who recently brought food while I have been recuperating from hip replacement surgery! it’s good to get back into some creativity after all this!!!!

  15. Thanks for the reminder – it has been awhile since I sent out a card just to say hello and I love that idea. I’m a firm believer that small acts of kindness are extra important. I have a few friends and a sister that could use a little extra sunshine in their day. (Especially since it snowed here today – yikes!) Love your card, Jennifer. I especially like the sentiment, so I immediately added that stamp set to my cart at SSS. Thanks for drawing these stamp sets to our attention – gorgeous!
