Wood Veneer
I love when a product comes out and you just have to have it. Especially when lots come in a package, giving it great mileage for the money.
A perfect example? Studio Calico’s wood veneer embellishments. Here are a few cards I threw together with them.
First one has some wood veneer hearts on a double embossed notecard (shown in a video in A Cut Above – you can still take it)…
All of these wood veneer pieces start out as plain wood but I colored them quickly with Copics. You could use pretty much anything to color them. Here, I layered an open bird on top of a solid bird. Eyes were done with Black Enamel…
More layering here. I just glue them together with Glossy Accents…
My favorites are these stars. They are super small, making them fun to scatter on a card like I do normally with tiny punched hearts or gems. Fabulous. Added Rock Candy Distress Stickles to these. Looks like sugar.
And look how many come in a pack? Awesome…

Oh, and see those hexagon and chevron embossed notecards? I did that with one embossing folder. The Spellbinders M-Bossailities can be used with any die cut machine. Emboss it one way and get one pattern. Turn it inside out and emboss and you get another pattern. Love. A great deal. And since it is a true embossing folder, it gives deep impressions.
Have a good night.
