Studio Calico Card + Giveaway!

Hey there, stampers.

About 3 months ago, I finally gave in and signed up for a Studio Calico membership. I avoided it for so long, thinking I could just buy their individual products and put them together with my own goodies to work some magic.

But as much as I love their papers and goodies alone, I love them much more when they are part of a kit. There is nothing like opening the box when it arrives at my house and seeing all the lovely products that go together so perfectly… with no effort on my part. Come on – just look at this loveliness of color of this month’s Boardwalk kit:

Delicious, huh? And just because you get a kit that is made up of a color palette (like the green and teal above) doesn’t mean that you can’t shake it up. After all, many patterned papers have another side, right? That is how I got the pink in my project below. I used all pieces from the kit above…

The zig zag was cut from a patterned paper in the kit that had zig zags (imagine that). That rose was such fun to make. I made it with the Mistable Trim (Pink Paislee) that is included in this Studio Calico Boardwalk kit. It is basically a scallop fabric border and I just cut the scallops deeper. I then rolled it, glued it and pressed the “petals” down. Cool, huh? (Should I do a video showing this next week? Not sure if that made sense.)

See the leaves? I just stamped the circle stamp that was in the kit twice – overlapping –  to create a leaf to cut out. Oh, and that stamp was made at Hero Arts so you know it will stamp perfectly. 🙂 I also adore the chipboard letters in the set. I actually used my Copics to color them darker. Oh, and the butterflies? I cut those from some Studio Calico paper with THIS fabulous Memory Box die. In love.

If you have questions about the SC kits, feel free to ask. I am new to them but really appreciate the ease of working with a kit. They make crafting faster – which I adore.

So… I have a giveaway! Leave a comment here by Thursday night for your chance to win the Studio Calico Boardwalk kit!

By the way, 2Peas now has the Studio Calico + Hero Arts stamps in stock HERE. (Hero Arts now makes their stamps so they stamp perfectly.) I just love this one…

Off to have dinner. Hubby made grilled chicken with mexican pesto. (HERE is the recipe – he uses pine nuts instead of pepitas. Yum.)

Oh, and the winner of BasicGrey giveaway is Carol Metully. Emailed ya.
