There are some fabulous new holiday stamps this year. But I by far have a favorite – Greatest Gift. This set not only has great messages in great fonts, but the images are great for fun inking techniques. Perfection.

I decided to create a few simple cards with this set – cards that would be pretty easy to mass produce as a holiday card. But to add some interest, I used clear notecards.

I stamped the greeting on the bottom of the clear cards with White Staz-On Ink and a stamp press. This makes it fool-proof and SO easy. (If you took the Summer Card Camp with me, you saw tricks for stamping on acetate with Staz-On. That’s what I did here!)

I soooo wish you could see the shine on these pieces. I white heat embossed the image on white cardstock and then painted over them with Twinkling H2Os. It shines sooooo nicely – the perfect amount of shine. Bummer that the camera didn’t pick it up…

Then you could always go for bold colors…

… or totally funky colors (which I like the best)…

Here is a fun tip: When using watercolors such as Twinkling H2Os on a background like this on white cardstock, first mist the paper lightly with water to soften it. This helps the paper absorb the color better. Works great. Promise. 🙂
