greetings from brussels!

Hello! I am on vacation in Europe for the week. I had loaded lots of photos into my albums on Typepad so I could write posts while I am here. But for some reason it is stuck and I am having no luck.
So I will post when I get home later this week. In the meantime, if you like travel photos, you can check out my photos on Twitter.
Have a good day. I am off to dinner and a delicious Belgian beer.
Night!

  1. Hope you have a fun trip with your sweet hubyy! Enjoy all the yummy beers and be sure to eat and bring home LOTS of chocolate too – Galler and Wittamer – yum!!!

  2. Jennifer, I’d love to hear where you end up going in Belgium. We’re planning a trip to Europe in March. I’m very excited about the Belgian beer and food 🙂 yum

  3. Hi Jennifer, love to hear that you are staying in my country. You do not have luck with the weather. If you take choclat home, try diferent brands. They are all yummie : cote d’or, jacques, leonidas …

  4. Enjoy your visit Jennifer! Brussels (-and Bruges) are so lovely! I visited twice already.. So much to see and taste! The best chocolate: Wittamer on Place du Grand Sablon…. Yummy! And the best teas in Bruges at Het Brugs Theehuis on Wollestraat 8. (my favorite is Evidemment). The shop owner is a very nice young man. too bad he doesn’t ship his teas! Ah all the nice souvenirs of Brussels – enjoy Jennifer! Oh and the best waffles are the ones sold at the counters on the street, not in the restaurants! And if you’re in Brugges, take a horse drawn carriage ride – the best way to see all the best sites! Can’t wait to see all your photos!

  6. Enjoy! How fun that you can get away with just the two of you. My husband and I haven’t been to Europe without kids in tow for 10 years now (basically since they were born)–I have a feeling he will be wanting to take them with us on every trip until they graduate from college… Maybe for our Silver anniversary I can finally convince him otherwise. LOL! 🙂

  7. So good to hear you are in MY country!!! Enjoy your time in Belgium, enjoy the Belgian beer and don’t forget to take Belgian CHOCOLATE home, because we have the best chocolate in the world!!!!!!
    Have fun!

  8. Hi Jennifer,

I can’t believe you’re so close!!! I’m from Belgium as well, the area near Hasselt – you should visit the fashion museum there if you have the chance – you might (or should I say: you WILL) get inspired!

  9. Nice to have you nearby (I’m from the Netherlands). I can feel the inspiration flowing my way somehow and you have made the sun come out here also! Thanks! Enjoy your trip and the quality time with Ken!

  10. Enjoy your vacation! I love traveling with my kids but the few times I get away with just my hubby are so wonderful and precious and i can’t even imagine getting to do it in Europe!! Can’t wait to see your pictures when you return.

  11. Hi Jennifer,
Wonderful! Iloved Brussels. It’s been a few years but Euoropean cities don’t change radically. The “Grande Place” is amazing, especially at night. Off the Grande Place is a covered section with a glass roof. There you will find lovely boutiques and also restauranta. If you like mussels, “Moules et Frites” is a Belgian specialty and you must have some. In the Grande place is a chocolatier where they have a delectable selection of Belgian chocolates! If you like history, about 10-15 miles out of Brussels is Waterloo, the place where the Duke of Wellington defeated Napolean. It’s worth visiting. I know you are having a wonderful time. Enjoy! Cheers, Christina

  12. Hi Jennifer!

I am very happy for you – holiday is always great fun.

    Hugs, kissinia

  13. The Mario cards are adorable. You came up with such a cute idea! The comment made from other mother was so funny. It is this mentality that allows me to save so much money buying scrapbook supplies. Ha Ha I call this the “husband unawareness plan”.
